[Pinnacle Academy, Gaming Club Room]
[Tuesday, 5:15 PM]
The second route was worse, because it meant asking a favour.
Lyra Anette was on a beanbag with a controller in her lap and her tongue between her teeth, doing something violent to a boss monster on the club's big screen, and she didn't look up when I came in.
"You never come to club."
"I'm a member."
"You're a name on a sheet."
The boss died. She set the controller down and swivelled to face me with the smug expression of someone who has just been proven correct about something.
"So what do you want?"
"...That obvious?"
"Rel. You walked in with your shoulders up."
"Your uncle," I said. "Dempsey."
Lyra's eyebrows went up.
"Cousin, technically. Sort of. It's complicated and my mum gets weird about it." She pulled her knees up.
"What about him?"
"Could you ask him to look something up for me."
"...What kind of something?"
