Mikhail stared like this was the first time he was seeing his mate. The words that came from Agust's mouth were foreign, but fuck, they sounded familiar. Like they had been spoken for one too many years, and it was normal for him.
And yet as Mikhail stared, as he listened, he couldn't help the feeling that this was practiced. That whatever had happened here was different.
Maybe he was deluded.
Maybe he was losing his goddamn mind too, but the thought of Agust killing Ilya over him, and that too in the name of love, was insane.
It made no sense.
It wasn't right because Agust knew that Mikhail would always be his. It wasn't something that he needed any more proof of.
He knew that Mikhail would always, always choose him. He had been there through the times Mikhail had him. So, this was not making any sense, and for the first time with this barbaric king in his cruelest form, Mikhail didn't judge.
Didn't stare at him cruelly.
