Before she could spring up with a leap, the monster moved with superhuman speed arriving in front of her with a blur.
It was too fast. Camilla could barely even keep up with its inhuman speed.
Still, she slammed a palm to the ground forcing her body out of the trajectory of the incoming attack.
Boom!
The sharp spear like spider leg slammed into the ground inches away from her body and Camilla used the chance to spin a kick right at the monsters legs.
Not anticipating a comeback from such an unfavorable posture, the monster had its legs swept from under it and fell back.
But, it was faster than Camilla and as it fell back it sent out two of its legs attacking from both sides.
Camilla judged that she could not dodge this attack, especially with her awkward stance that still had yet to regain balance.
Good!
She never planned to dodge these attacks anymore.
Since Nagisa could fix her up no matter what, then fight without reserve. It was the only way she could actually survive a battle with this monster.
Pfft!
Both the legs pierced through her sides as she just barely avoided being impaled, however she ignored the damage and stomped forwards with a slash.
The monster moved a moment faster, pressing its free hands to the ground it pushed off into the air avoiding the attack.
Yet, Camilla did stop there.
Before the monster could land she dashed out again expending as much mana as she could.
The moment she closed the distance a spider leg pierced through her stomach.
Guh!
No matter what, she had to land an attack and give it a severe enough wound.
With this thought in mind, Camilla ignored the spider leg impaling her and pressed on more and more blood gushing from the wound.
But, she didn't care.
It was too late when the monster realized this woman wanted to trade injury for injury.
Pfft!
Her sword trailing a familiar path, she once again targeted the chest wound that had scabbed over when the monster transformed carving it open once again its purple blood spurting even more than before.
The monster shrieked in pain, yet Camilla was dissatisfied.
Feeling the spider leg pulling out of her wound, Camilla coughed blood seeing the monster retreat while touching the wound in its chest with a loud angry shriek.
It was truly disappointing.
[I wanted to kill it with that attack-]
Even so, using its faster reflexes, the monster had shifted its body far enough that the wound would not be deeper than it was now.
Well, not that I could kill it in my current state.
She doubted whether she could kill it normally, now was even more of an impossible task.
But, she had hoped.
Casting healing over the puncture wound in her stomach, Camilla coughed blood.
A little higher and it might have pierced an internal organ. By then, even if she couldn't feel pain she would likely be immobilized and unable to move.
Fuu-
She released a breath focusing even more on the enemy.
Although the monster was mainly a humanoid creature, it attacked using its raw power and natural endowments of a mantis and spider rather than being specifically skilled in techniques.
The monster mainly relied on raw brute strength, otherwise how could she last so long if the monster was skilled in using techniques as well?
In fact, she had created many openings and taken advantage of this flaw of the monster many times.
In this sense, she had the upper hand when it came to combat skill. It was just that she was lacking the power.
As for the monsters at the side, Camilla gave them a glance.
They seemed ready to pounce, but maybe because she was fighting this guy none of them dared to make a move.
So, she didn't need to take those guys into account and only needed to focus on the enemy before her.

Before, she had lost any hope of reuniting with her family. Any will to fight for what she desired had all but extinguished so she didn't even bother to fight for her own life as she died in a pit.
Rather, she accepted it.
But, the resentment at herself for being weak did not vanish. The hatred towards her weak self and the powerlessness to not even achieve her own goals would always haunt her.
Her eyes burned fiercely.
[I am done running]
Even if it meant losing an arm or a leg, dying however many times she needed. As long as she could see the faces of her family again, it would all be worth it!
So, fight. Fight until there was not even teeth left to bite the enemy with.

That incomprehensible body that went against nature, the shriek that seemed to resonate the resentment of souls.
Camilla raised her sword still bloody from all the wounds even her white armor and clothing had been stained red.

This was both her repentance and her stance to make a mends no matter the cost.
The monster didn't understand her words, however it could tell this human wanted to fight. It could tell this human wanted to win against it.
It was angry!
