"No." Fan Rou was extremely weak, the two words said intermittently.
Her voice was so soft that Fan's father had to lean in to hear.
"Do you think I can't find out if you don't tell me?" Fan's father's face was hidden in darkness, making him appear increasingly sinister and ruthless.
"He's a professor of economics, isn't he? Quite accomplished and treats you well, I've heard you plan to marry him?"
Fan Rou kept her eyes tightly shut, her face showing no excess expression. She lay there quietly as if dead, letting Fan's father speak to himself.
"It doesn't matter if you don't say anything, tonight I'll have him come to keep you company."
Fan Rou finally opened her eyes.
"As long as you obediently tell me what you've given to Jun Mochan, I won't harm him, how about that?"
"I don't believe you." Fan Rou struggled once more to get the words out.
