Humans are born with a soul.
The soul governs the spirit, and the body controls the physical form.
The soul is divided into three parts, namely Heaven, Earth, and Human attributes, among which, the Human Soul is considered the foundational soul in cultivation.
The Heaven and Earth souls exist externally throughout the year, while the Human Soul resides within the body.
The cultivation process for a Qi Refiner involves the continuous evolution and strengthening of the Divine Soul. If the three souls of Heaven, Earth, and Human fuse into one, it becomes the Primordial Spirit, reaching a state where the physical body can perish but the self remains.
Prior to that, if a cultivator dies, the soul will dissipate naturally. Even having a Nascent Soul as a secondary host only delays this inevitability.
