We were mostly talking about ordinary day-to-day stuff during dinner. Nothing serious, nothing particularly important. Just random conversation flowing naturally between bites of food and drinks. The kind of relaxed atmosphere where people talked simply because they enjoyed being around each other.
The restaurant itself was calm tonight. Soft chatter filled the air, plates occasionally clinked against utensils, and the smell of freshly cooked food lingered around us pleasantly. It felt comfortable. Peaceful, even.
Honestly, moments like this were rare for me lately.
Most of my days had been filled with complicated situations, politics, fighting, people wanting things from me, or trying to kill me. Sitting down and talking casually over dinner almost felt weird at this point. A nice weird, though.
"Oh, right. I forgot to tell you something, Leon. There are a lot of women interested in becoming your women," Charlotte suddenly said.
