Kingsley let out a final desperate cry, pouring all his emotion out. The reality of the situation sank in.
His colleagues were gone forever.
When the dementors were done with the three bodies on the ground, they turned their attention toward Kingsley. Kingsley knew that he needed to fight. But he has lost every single will.
Voldemort was amused seeing Kingsley's broken spirit.
Kingsley was such an important member of the Order of Phoenix and an informer to Albus Dumbledore about the Ministry of Magic. Eliminating him was going to cause such a big pain to Dumbledore's plan.
How much Voldemort wished he could see the face of Dumbledore when the latter would learn about Kingsley's death and the incident of today.
Voldemort turned to Amelia Bones, who stood loyally by his side. No longer the woman of strength and independence who once commanded respect in the Ministry.
No, this version of Amelia was completely broken, a shadow of her former self.
The blackmail that occurred through the use of her niece, Susan Bones, was a complete success. In the beginning, Voldemort had to keep using the Imperius Curse, but as Voldemort kept modifying her memories, she became a puppet of his.
When Voldemort saw a figure emerging from Azkaban, he left the dementors with the lifeless corpses and walked toward Azkaban Tower with Amelia following behind.
Just before Amelia led the Aurors to Azkaban, Voldemort got here together with Wormtail. While Voldemort and Amelia were dealing with the Aurors, Wormtail was freeing each of the prisoners in Azkaban. Walking closely behind Wormtail were the previous Death Eaters who were once captured during the first war.
There was Antonin Dolohov, Bellatrix Lestrange, Augustus Rookwood, Travers, Rabastan Lestrange, and Rodolphus Lestrange. These were among the most loyal servants to Voldemort.
But it was the last figure in the group that drew the most attention.
A figure who seemed both out of place and yet completely fitting among the dark and twisted gathering.
Harry Potter.
Long gone was the innocent face.
Instead, Harry had a sharp, cold look with a deadly stare. The dark circle under Harry's eyes had been more visible due to the months spent in Azkaban. His black hair had grown longer, almost reaching his neck.
The only Death Eater clearly not affected by the presence of Harry Potter was the witch hopping joyfully toward Voldemort. Bellatrix Black approached his master after not having seen him for years.
As soon as she was within reach of Voldemort, Bellatrix got on her knees and grabbed Voldemort's robe.
"My Lord," Bellatrix said, her voice full of excitement as she clung to Voldemort's robes. "I knew you would return. I never doubted it for a second!"
Voldemort looked down at her with a slight smile, admiring the craziness on her face. "Yes, Bella," he replied. "You have never stopped believing in me. And now your master has returned, stronger than ever."
Bellatrix's eyes brightened with madness and joy as she looked up at him. "I will serve you, my Lord, until my last breath. We will destroy anyone who stands in your way."
What followed was something that Bellatrix really desired but never imagined to happen. Voldemort lowered his hand and caressed her cheek.
Slightly surprised by Voldemort's advance, Bellatrix leaned into his touch, her eyes closed, marveling at the sensation. How long had Bellatrix wanted her master to touch her like that? Bellatrix wanted the moment to last longer, but she felt Voldemort's hand slowly slipping away.
"I will have a personal reward for you later on," said Voldemort.
Voldemort then looked at the boy who was finally in front of him. The dark Lord has molded Harry into the perfect piece, and seeing that in front of him was a satisfactory result.
The boy who lives, the one destined to destroy the Dark Lord, has now dropped to one knee in front of Voldemort himself.
"Rise," Voldemort commanded, and Harry obeyed.
Voldemort then closed the distance and brought Harry into his embrace. Then, after breaking away from the hug, Voldemort grabbed Harry by his shoulders and asked, "You have done well, my child. Tell me, is there anything you want?"
Harry's eyes turned cold, his gaze devoid of innocence. "I want revenge."
Voldemort smiled upon hearing these words, satisfied that the goal behind sending Harry to Azkaban had worked. During these months in Azkaban, Harry had been subjected to endless torment from the dementors. They consumed his every joyful memory, draining him of any hope he once had.
What remained were the hatred and every other negative emotion.
Harry's thoughts were plagued by memories of his Muggle family, the Dursleys, who had treated him as an animal and a disease to be eradicated. He had been nothing but an inconvenience to them, a constant reminder of their shame. Their cruelty had twisted him and pushed him to the brink of madness.
Every time Harry thought he might forget the pain of their abuse, the Dementors revived it, forcing him to relive those dark days in vivid detail. Their punishment, the words they spoke, and specifically the insult they said about her mother. It was all replayed over and over, each time worse than the last.
And then there was Dumbledore.
Harry's so-called savior, the one who had used him like a pawn, feeding him half-truths and empty promises. Dumbledore had manipulated him for years, pushing him to be the hero when all he was to the old man was a tool in a larger game. The lies had broken Harry's spirit, leaving him hollow and vengeful.
On top of that, Voldemort, through the connection of the Horcrux inside of Harry Potter, fed him several nightmares. Some included how his parents were living a peaceful life, and then Dumbledore came and made them fight for the Muggles. In the end, his parents were dead while Dumbledore and the Muggles kept living. Others included Harry and Ginny, married with their child living happily, but then the Muggles came to destroy everything.
Voldemort could see the raw fury in Harry's expression that was waiting to burst out.
This was the perfect weapon.
"You will have your revenge, my child," Voldemort whispered, his voice low and filled with promise. "We will destroy them all. The Muggles, the traitors, Dumbledore's precious Order… none of them will survive. We will watch as they beg for mercy, and we will grant them none. But first, I have some good news for you."
