Roland is right. Bickering isn't going to solve anything. We need to figure out how to get past this altar, and standing around arguing about fear isn't going to help.
I turn my attention back to the room, scanning the walls, the floor, the ceiling. There has to be something we're missing. A hidden switch, a loose stone, a clue in the carvings...something.
But the more I look, the more I realize that the room is just...a room. It's empty, save for the altar and the carvings. There are no other doors, no hidden passages, no secret compartments. It's just a small, circular space, with walls covered in strange, swirling patterns that seem to shift and change when I'm not looking directly at them.
Celeste is still standing by the altar, her fingers tracing the runes, her brow furrowed in concentration. She's muttering to herself, a low, almost inaudible stream of words that sound like a spell or a prayer.
