Several people had gathered on the upper deck of the Red Wind.
Although they couldn't see the battle taking place on the ground below, they could still hear the distant rumble of thunder and the sound of explosions echoing time and time again.
Lisa stood at the edge, her hands clasped tightly around the railings. The wind pulled at the hems of her gown, but she didn't move. Her gaze stayed fixed.
And although her face remained impassive, the look in her eyes betrayed her inner feelings. Concern flickered across the green eyes, and whenever the distant sound of thunder rumbled, her hands clutched the railing a little tighter.
She turned to the side and saw Adam calmly standing with his hands clasped behind his back. She knew he was constantly checking on Edward's battle, and that he wouldn't let anything happen to him.
But still… she couldn't cast away the heavy feeling gnawing at her heart.
