Adam emerged from underneath the rubble.
He brushed the dust from his robes, then ran a hand over his wrist and forearms. They tingled. The attack earlier had landed cleanly. His opponent was strong.
But when his gaze fell on the path he had carved through the city, his expression darkened. Among broken stones and splintered debris, there was also blood and flesh.
Dozens of new light orbs had appeared in the Lotus' mysterious space, born from nothing more than him being hurled through the city.
He knew what that meant.
I have to take this fight away from here, he thought solemnly.
He expanded his senses outward, his brows furrowing quickly. He noticed the three cultists and their undead knights retreating to the edge of the city.
And one of the cultists seemed to be grievously injured.
What?
He didn't have any more time to ponder as he noticed another presence rapidly approaching him from above. He lifted his head, eyes glinting with a sharp light.
