Chapter 5702 - Chapter 4726: X Royal Family: Annihilation (8)

"Magneto!!!!!"

At the center of the Psy-storm, even with a helmet that blocks psychic abilities, Magneto could still hear the angry roar of the White Queen. He sighed, knowing that what was meant to come would inevitably come, but he could only face it alone. Professor X was not suitable to appear at this moment; Emma would want to kill him.

A dazzling figure burst through the window, stopping in front of Magneto. All the crystal glass shards flew up and shot toward Magneto. Magneto waved his hand somewhat helplessly and said, "Stop with these little tricks, Emma."

"Little tricks?! If you hadn't actually bled for mutants, Erik, I'd have those crystal shards slice off your head!!!"

The White Queen was an imposing blonde woman. She was tall, muscular, with very typical Germanic features, and her sharp lines made her look almost male. Her every move was filled with the aura of someone in command. When she was furious, she looked like an exploding star, blindingly dazzling.

"What did you and Charles promise me back then?! You said you would build a new Utopia for mutants, and what did I say? I said you were dreaming, haven't we failed enough?! Genosha, the lessons from the Mutant Federation weren't enough?!"

"It was your flowery words, you said this time it would be different, that we would surely win. You said all I had to do was solve diplomatic and trade issues, and you would handle everything. How could I have believed such lies from you?!!"

"The strike team was completely wiped out, right?! Because of your damned, ridiculously naive multiverse plan! We lost eight more comrades, Erik, look into my eyes; don't you feel any guilt for them?!!"

The White Queen swung her hands forcefully. "Heavens know, I have persuaded the ambassadors of six countries to conduct state visits to Clarkia. Once they come, our status will be more legitimate, but you dared to bring back that cursed Sebastian at this time!! You're mocking me!!!"

Her roar made the entire crystal dome tremble, and even all the mutants on the island huddled in their rooms, not daring to face the White Queen's wrath directly.

This Magneto from this universe had a relatively good temper. He sighed softly and said, "The multiverse plan was indeed our mistake, and Charles has already paid the price for it. Emma, bringing back the Black Emperor wasn't intended to oppose you."

"Then what exactly are you doing?!" The White Queen was evidently collapsing, saying, "Tomorrow is the United Nations assembly! The strike operation failed, and they will surely lash out at us. Only I can solve this diplomatic disaster for you, and yet you betrayed me at this time..."

"We didn't, Emma, please believe me, we didn't bring the Black Emperor to fight against you." Magneto walked up to her, looking into her eyes, "You can't deny that Sebastian is also a mutant. If we want to build a nation that accepts all mutants, we can't exclude him. I thought you had considered this when you agreed with us. Back then, Charles and I marveled at how broad-minded and respectable a lady you were."

"You wish to solve this with flattery!" The White Queen wouldn't fall for it, "Tell me what you need Sebastian for!"

Magneto was at a loss for words. He didn't even know why he agreed to Shiller's crazy plan. Provoking the White Queen seemed like splitting the mutants, and if he couldn't give her an explanation, things might spiral further downwards.

But just then, the sound of knocking was like celestial music. For some reason, Magneto held an inexplicable trust in Shiller, perhaps because of his understanding of Professor X. Magneto projected the trust he had for Professor X onto him.

"Come in," Magneto said. He wrapped his cape around himself and turned away, indicating his desire to exit the stage and leave the rest to Shiller. To his surprise, it wasn't Shiller who came in first, but Professor X in a wheelchair.

At that moment, Magneto's soul almost left his body. The White Queen was already critical of the multiverse plan and blamed the annihilation of the strike team on Professor X. Magneto had Professor X hiding in the gravity lab to prevent the impulsive White Queen from attacking the Professor, which wasn't out of the question.

But now what did he see? Professor X had come out himself and even appeared in front of an even angrier White Queen?!

Magneto's hand, clutching the cape, tightened instantly, and he was on the verge of losing control. But the White Queen gasped, "Charles, how..."

Magneto then realized, wait a minute, how is Professor X in a wheelchair again?

In fact, in most mutant comics, Professor X's legs were already healed. After all, these mutants can travel through time and have advanced medical technology, even curing cancer, so paralysis isn't a major issue. Or it could be said that the iconic image of paralysis is a stereotype from the movies. In many comics, Professor X isn't paralyzed, or only temporarily so, and was back on his feet after a short while.

This universe's Professor X was the same. When he decided to build Clarkia into a new Utopia, his paralysis had long been cured, and he was on his feet again. But now, he was in a wheelchair again, and it was Shiller pushing him in.

But Magneto still didn't understand why White Queen had this attitude. Shouldn't she be very angry?

Suddenly, another wave of angry psy-storm hit, but this time it was different from before; Magneto felt targeted. He felt like his helmet was a small boat swaying in the storm.

"Magneto!!!" White Queen screamed again, "How dare you!!! How dare you let Professor X be hurt like this?!!! What have you done???!!!"

Magneto was stunned. He instinctively looked up and saw Shiller winking at him. At that moment, a wave of thought as gentle as a spring breeze smoothed out the fierce psy-storm.

Magneto was naturally familiar with Charles's brainwaves, but was this a bit too weak?

Professor X rarely used brute force to interfere with their spirits, but even when he just helped them calm down, everyone could feel the immense power in his brainwaves, like the edge of a typhoon brushing against them, even Magneto wearing a helmet wasn't an exception.

However, this time the thought fluctuations seemed to be barely able to soothe White Queen's anger, appearing extremely weak, a stark contrast to Professor X's original brainwaves.

"My God." White Queen said, "What's wrong with you, Professor Xavier? You look like you're dying! I can hardly feel the presence of your brainwaves anymore!"

The originally furious White Queen was obviously a bit panicked. Her voice trembled, "Who has done this to you? Was it... the Sentinel?"

"It was the Mother Module," Professor X said with helplessness in his voice, "At the last moment of the strike team's life, I tried to forcibly interfere with Mother Module using my brainwaves to make it face the Sentinel Robots, but I failed, instead I was injured by it..."

"Mother Module is that strong??!!" White Queen was in disbelief, "Just one strike almost killed you?!"

Professor X helplessly nodded, gently sighed and said: "I can hardly use my abilities now, otherwise I would have stopped you the moment you landed on the island."

White Queen seemed to have just remembered, saying: "I must have been out of my mind, not realizing that I could barely read your brainwaves... Is this condition permanent?"

"I don't know, Emma." Professor X called her by name and said, "No one knows, even Beast and Moira can't give an answer. But at the beginning of executing this plan, there was no situation that was unacceptable to me. Our companions leave us, I might leave you, you might leave everyone, these are all prices we must pay."

White Queen's figure wobbled, she even couldn't help but use her hand to support the nearby table. This mutant queen who was used to being strong rarely showed such a vulnerable moment, indicating she was truly on the verge of being overwhelmed by fear.

Magneto actually didn't quite understand why she had such a reaction, but Shiller knew very well. Only mind power users can truly understand how strong Professor X is, whether they are adversaries or allies, only by looking at the real Charles Xavier through the Mind Link can one understand what the God of Mind means.

White Queen may have the reputation of a psychic able on par with Professor X, but this fame was actually spread when Professor X humbled himself saying "many powerful mind power users are on par with me". And White Queen's parity with Professor X was actually in her mind defense power, but this defense power is achieved through her other mutant ability—body diamondization—and not just relying on mind power to match Professor X in a battle.

If Professor X was injured by a single hit from Mother Module, then her proud mind defense ability might also be vulnerable. And this was an incomplete and unassigned Mother Module, urgently awakened to deal with the strike team, already causing such terrifying damage, what about when this thing is fully completed? Wouldn't they all be doomed?

White Queen didn't lack the awareness of sacrifice, daring to follow these two madmen to rebuild Utopia, she already envisioned the worst outcome. After all, they even experienced "no more mutants", what is there to fear?

But now, White Queen knew what she feared. How did humans create that thing? Despite being so weak, so helpless, she could defeat countless ordinary people with just a glance using her mind control. How can such a weak race produce such a powerful weapon?!

White Queen was unwilling to admit, but the fear about to strike her came from, during mutant dominance, she saw ordinary people on Earth as ants, even if they were all wiped out, she wouldn't care at all. But now, the roles reversed, humans could easily annihilate mutants, wouldn't humans spare them at all, how far is mutant extinction?

She could sacrifice, but she couldn't accept the complete extinction of mutants, they've already worked hard enough, why can't they pave a path of survival?!

Magneto watched the drama unfold, currently unsure what Shiller and Professor X were up to. Although this calmed White Queen down, could such a blow really not make her decide to give up resisting in complete despair?
