The world itself seemed to spasm as flickers of blue arcs of electricity flashed, before Lucas reappeared where he seemed to have never left, his hands holding the two mud-wielders by their heads like mere sacks of meat.
His white hair floated from the remaining momentum of his movement as he breathed out a vapor of heat and cold mixed with flickering shades of blue arcs.
For a second, the battlefield did truly pause, this time with all eyes in the vacuum on him. And he started walking deeper into the lines of Devourers, his posture as casual as it was belligerent. Each step in the void became a drum as unnerving as it was provocative, setting the rhythm of the tightening nerves.
No sound was supposed to exist in the vacuum, at least not on its own, but this time, without Lucas doing anything, his steps became the loud clock of the grim reaper in the hearts of not just those before him, but those behind too.
