Chapter 7 - Preparation for Tarth- Augment oneself

Elliot stood in an open field, the area was surrounded by mountains, encapsulating it, making it a circle of clear land. The area had little to no vegetation, just lush green grass and a few trees, not tall but wide. The air was fresh and the echoes of mountain wildlife filled the air. This place was far from the town and would be Elliot's home until he finished his training.

"This place is good. Far from your people so we do not have to hold back. Firstly, I want you to feel body augmentation. Let go Elliot, let me take the wheel." Lilith said. Elliot closed his eyes and took a deep breath as a warm sensation swept over his body and the next time he opened his eyes he could see everything, from an almost third-person perspective.

Lilith, currently inhabiting the boy's body opened his eyes. Elliot's eyes glowed red, a sign of possession.

"Now Elliot I want you to remember this feeling." Lilith extends the boy's hand. As she concentrates, magic seeps into the entirety of the arm, every molecule that composed Elliot's arm was enveloped in magic, becoming supercharged. This resulted in a weird tingling sensation in Elliot's arm. The arm began to change, the bones reconstructed and the skin morphed into another material. The hand opened into a claw with bladed edges and skin became a metallic substance.

"Wicked." Elliot said in astonishment.

"Elliot, this is body augmentation. A forbidden magic practice, your body has a weird affinity for it." Lilith said as the arm went back to normal. Soon after the red glow in Elliot's eyes disappeared, signaling Elliot was back in control.

"Now I want you to recreate the augmentation." Lilith commanded Elliot. Elliot reached out his hand and took a deep breath. The young man closed his eyes and focused. He visualized a translucent veil, which symbolized his magic slowly creeping down his hand. The veil covered his whole hand, it felt as if a cloth was wrapped around Elliot's hand. The veil tightened and began to disappear into Elliot's arm.

'Envelop every molecule.' Elliot began reiterating the thought in his head like a mantra. His hand began experiencing a sharp pain as red energy began to hover around his arm in bubbles.

"Elliot, separate the demonic energy and rid it." Lilith stated. Elliot began to focus harder as an expression of pain began to make its way across his face.

'Envelop every molecule.' Elliot thought as he began expelling the demonic energy away from his arm, back to his core. As the pain subsided, a faint tingling sensation began to ring through his arm.

'Envelop every molecule.' Elliot thought as he finally expelled the demonic energy from his arm. The tingling sensation became as intense as when Lilith was controlling him but before anything, the sensation disappeared.

"Fuck." Elliot said as he fell to his feet with his head hung low, hopeless.

"That was pretty good for your first try." Lilith said trying to console Elliot.

"Lilith. Make another puppet. Make it stronger and faster." Elliot said with his head still hung low.

"What? Why? If it is faster, at this stage you won't have a chance." Lilith said.

"You can heal me from near death, can you not." Elliot retorted.

"Yes I can but..." Lilith said as she was interrupted by Elliot.

"Let me fight till my second last breath, I feel something." Elliot said as he looked up, his eyes burning with determination. Lilith complied and a puppet made of Lilith's magic appeared in front of Elliot.

Elliot stood up and drew his dagger as he stared at the puppet which took the plow guard sword stance. Elliot wound back his arm and used almost all his magic to enhance the strength of this arm. The puppet stood there, it was unresponsive. In the next second Elliot threw his dagger with intense strength causing the speed the dagger travel at to be around Mach 1, or the speed of sound. The puppet reacted and barely parried the dagger by shifting its body away and using its sword to deflect the dagger. In that very moment as the dagger ricocheted off the sword, Elliot appeared above the puppet which was wide open. His body was overflowing with magic, enhancing his speed, then in that split second that speed enhancement switched to strength as Elliot threw a punch which landed on the puppet's head causing a huge crater.

Elliot jumped back a few paces and stared as the smoke cleared. The next moment the puppet appeared behind Elliot and threw a slash across his back. As blood began gushing from the wound, Elliot enhanced his speed and jumped performing a roundhouse kick but in the moment that kick connected, he switched the speed enhancement to strength, kicking the puppet away.

'Impressive, his battle IQ is totally different compared to before.' Lilith thought to herself as Elliot raised his hand calling back his dagger as he stared at the puppet which used its sword to get up.

'Purify. Elliot, PURIFY!' Elliot thought to himself as he allowed the red energy to begin engulfing his entire body. As the energy travelled to areas of his body, its color became diluted. In little to no time the energy was finally purified and Elliot successfully doubled his normal magic reserves.

The puppet took an ox guard stance and Elliot began enhancing his speed and strength using half of his available, magic.

'This amount of magic should allow me to function at the level I used to when I showed those small bursts.' Elliot thought to himself.

The two charged at each other simultaneously. When they were in close proximity, the puppet swung its sword with intense speed and strength, throwing its all into this swing. Elliot saw this swing and blocked with his dagger, which broke on contact and the puppet's blade passed through Elliot's stomach. As the wound opened, the boy's blood and guts came out gushing.

In that moment, Elliot lifted his left arm as his remaining magic engulfed his hand, the veil covered this arm. Elliot's arm twisted and morphed until it became a sword but before he could do anything the young lad lost consciousness.

The puppet caught Elliot as he fell and Lilith began working on healing his body.

'Elliot is a monster. An actual monster.' Lilith thought to herself as she was stuck in awe at Elliot's conviction and rapid learning curve under pressure.
