5 o'clock in the afternoon came, and it was time for Hoshi and his group to pack up and embarked on a 3-hour trip to the Batangas port via a bus in the Araneta Bus Terminal. Croix and another of his fellow NBI agents took some leave to provide transportation for the group to the bus terminal in their SUVs.
At the bus terminal, as Hoshi and his group held their baggage containing their belongings and some souvenirs from here in Metro Manila, Croix said, "Well, salamat for everything. You helped out in a case that would have scarred Metro Manila so much…"
"Have a safe trip, kids!" his coworkers chirped. "You're welcome for the ride."
With these, Hoshi and his group said their thankfulness and gratitude to them and went inside the bus terminal, lugging their belongings with them. Now, Croix and his coworker hopped in their vehicles and drove off back to the NBI headquarters for their remaining shift for this night.
By 5:40 p.m., the bus was now on its way southward from the bus terminal through Metro Manila and then down to Batangas city via SLEX. The ride in the afternoon and into the early evening was very nice. Hoshi and his group, now occupying seats on the middle part of the bus, enjoyed the beautiful view of the expressway as they were looking forward for their ferry ride from Batangas City to Caticlan, where they will catch a boat to Boracay island by tomorrow morning. The ride on the bus lasted three hours.
And then by 9:00 p.m. in the evening, the ferry, owned by a local ferry company called Batangas Sealiner, now leaving on its evening voyage to Caticlan. Hoshi and his group had discounted tickets for the Tourist Class of the ferry. It was quite nice, though communal in a cabin. But it does have an aircon that allows for a peaceful slumber especially when the voyage was long and overnight.
