2 p.m. came, and with their bags with them, they hopped on a bus to Iloilo City via Hamtic and Anini-y (because starting in December 2023, there was a tragedy of a bus accident that fell off the mountainous zigzag road that bars heavy vehicles from traversing through that road). It was a longer ride than one through the zigzag road, but it was safer that way. As the bus rolls by, Hoshi remembered having the reverse-balikbayan box sent to Osaka City, Japan via the Philippines' airmail system, and he and Mariya texted messages to their maternal, sake-producing Takada relatives to receive the box when it arrived in that estate front gates and leave the box in Hoshi's temporary room in the main house for them to pick up once they had arrived from the Philippines. The itinerary for now had Iloilo City, Roxas City, Cebu City, Bohol, and Legazpi City (and Manila perhaps when the remake of the original LRT film was out).
The afternoon provided a beautiful backdrop for this long ride. Bokuto fell asleep with his crimson face mask on, and Taro, Sha, Saki, and Paulo followed soon as the noise of the bus rolling down the road provided natural sedatives for them. Hoshi and Mariya also followed soon after.
Meanwhile, back in Metro Manila, Manuel Brian's father was taking the LRT train to Blumentritt to do some shopping for electronics. He remembered how Manuel died at the LRT Ripper and how the case was solved by Hoshi and his friends in the LRT depot. But as the afternoon set on this short train ride from LRT 1's northern station end, the spirit of Manuel appeared with a warm smile, and the father saw that. Despite now being in Christian heaven, one of the heavenly realms of the Spirit World, Manuel and the other spirits of the LRT 79 had the freedom to come down to the overworld and look at the mundane lives of their loved ones and anyone else they saw.
The same goes for Zephaniah in the NBI headquarters, and many of his former coworkers wept at his presence as he smiled at them.
After that, Manuel teleported to check on Hoshi and his group on that bus ride to Iloilo City. They were in Miag-ao now.
By 6:20 p.m., the bus pulled over in Iloilo City. The bus conductor calls for the passengers bound to that destination. Hoshi and his group woke up and grabbed their belongings, getting off the bus and stretching their arms and legs after being seated on the bus for 4 hours. They did have a short stopover in Miag-ao for a bathroom break.
