Winter: "Yeah, I'm not leaving anymore."
Rong Yan asked again, "And your revenge? Did you take it?"
Winter's hand on his knee tightened a little. He looked into Rong Yan's eyes and said seriously, "No. But… compared to revenge, I love Meow more. She matters more."
Rong Yan only asked these three questions. The rest, she wouldn't ask. These three were enough.
She said, "Alright, I believe you. Winter, we watched you grow up, and you know even better than we do how important Meow is to us. Since you came back like you promised, starting tomorrow I'll begin preparing for your engagement to Meow. Winter… don't let us down, okay?"
Winter stood up and bent at the waist to Liancheng Yanzhi and Rong Yan, a ninety-degree bow, holding it without moving, and said while bowing, "Yes, I will absolutely never let you down. I will cherish Meow even more than my own life. She is… the most important person in my whole life, and… the only one I care about."
