Though Duan Xi had taken care of Ruan Jiaojiao before, seeing him naturally bend down to change Jiaojiao's shoes still startled Yu Rou and Xin Miao.
After putting on the shoes, Jiaojiao hopped down from the car, hugged Duan Xi, kissed him on the cheek, and said, "Brother Duan, you chat with my brother and the others here. We'll be right back."
Since the street was straight and you could see from one end to the other, and with Yu Rou and Xin Miao accompanying, Duan Xi unusually didn't insist on following. Instead, he watched her walk away, arm in arm with Xin Miao and Yu Rou, skipping along.
"Jiaojiao, you're just too enviable!" Yu Rou couldn't hold back, and while slightly distanced, she pinched Ruan Jiaojiao's hand with jealousy.
Jiaojiao gasped from the pinch and quickly retracted her hand: "What, what happened?"
Yu Rou huffed, "Why don't you ask Miaomiao? Isn't it enviable! Your Brother Duan puts shoes on you outside; at home, would he even feed you?"
