When Mu Shengfeng arrived, he opened the door to the hospital room and saw Chi Yunxi sitting by the bedside, gently peeling an apple. The peel dangled down in a spiral.
On the bed, Zhou Jin watched quietly, a glimmer in his eyes.
Everything before him was so beautiful and enduring that it only ever appeared in his imagination, making Mu Shengfeng momentarily think he was in a dream.
Chi Yunxi glanced up, catching sight of Mu Shengfeng standing foolishly at the doorway. She continued her movements, but pretended to complain angrily, "Why is your phone off? I tried calling and couldn't reach you. Didn't know how to contact you..."
"Off?"
Mu Shengfeng fished out his phone from his pocket, only to realize it had powered off without him knowing.
Scratching his head in embarrassment, Mu Shengfeng walked over to sit beside Chi Yunxi, softly asking, "Where's Yu Sheng?"
"I had the nanny take him back to Half Flower Mansion first. I took a cab here."
