Ophelia saw a lot of potential in the abilities of the bunnies to make dolls for curses, similar to what the Witch Doctor did.
However, Opal saw many less reputable uses for super realistic dolls. Especially when you used [Reality Warp] on them to make them less doll like. The bunnies might go along with it, they were pretty open-minded that way.
The only downside was that they wouldn't get any sort of combat bonuses, even with [Reality Warp], so the Doll Maker wouldn't be as good as a Golem Master, even if they warped reality to make the dolls mobile.
Opal had the same restriction. She used [Reality Warp] to make illusions real, and the [Illusionary Domain] skill had some bonuses on it already, but it still didn't do as much damage per construct as Dana's basic golems.
They were durable, though.
