While Karl worried about alliances, and who to give the new items to, Skadi and Rue were already getting started on the first test items, to see if they could bypass Karl entirely.
Between them, they could use all the spells that needed to go onto the gifts, and if they combined their efforts, they should be able to make the finished product show the Darklight Host as the artisan, not the specific artisan, or nothing at all.
"We should make them in more colours. The stones are all green, but there are no browns, or reds, or golds. All green is too boring. Perhaps a nice white, like my hair?" Skadi suggested.
Rue laughed. "All nature stones are green, for some reason. It's not easy to change the colour of elemental stones, but every person will only have one, so they can mix them with other treasures of different colours to decorate properly."
Skadi frowned. She still thought that using only green to represent the forest was wrong.
