"I'm reporting the safe extraction of Mr. Everett and Young Minister Carson," Cindy said, her tone steady despite the aftermath of the battle. "Both are injured to varying degrees, but Mr. Everett has already administered first aid. We should arrive at the hospital in half an hour."
"I understand… I'll be right there…" Hera replied, her voice catching slightly at the end. The confirmation hit harder than she expected. What she had feared, and what she had begun to piece together, felt suddenly more real, more suffocating.
It was as if an invisible hand had closed around her throat, tightening just enough to steal her breath.
"How is it?" Xavier asked immediately, his brows drawing together as he noticed the shift in her expression, concern flashing across his face at the sight of her unease.
"Both Zhane and Dave are injured… they're already on their way to the hospital," Hera said, her voice unsteady despite her effort to remain composed. "But… they've been secured."
