Chapter 111 - We Share the Same Goal!

Chapter 111: We Share the Same Goal!

"Why did Nagumo Miyabi's lackeys come to the first-year building?" Yuto asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't know. He didn't investigate further," Horikita Manabu continued.

"Later, after school, Tonokawa took a first-year student to Nagumo's club activity room."

"That first-year was male and had very distinctive purplish-red hair."

The image of Ryuen Kakeru instantly flashed through Yuto's mind.

As far as he remembered, Ryuen was the only first-year student with purplish-red hair.

"My friend was worried Nagumo's people would discover him, so he didn't continue following them."

"Shimizu, I believe Nagumo met that first-year because he intends to deal with you. Be careful from now on," Manabu warned.

Yuto was the most suitable person to restrain Nagumo Miyabi.

Manabu could not allow anything to happen to him.

"I'll be careful. Thank you for the warning, senpai," Yuto answered with a smile.

"Mm. That's all. I have matters to handle."

"Okay."

Yuto ended the call with Manabu.

Frowning slightly, he murmured, "Nagumo Miyabi and Ryuen Kakeru... So those two have joined forces."

Both of them had conflicts with Yuto.

Both had also been taught a lesson by him.

So whether it was Manabu or Yuto, they believed those two meeting could only mean they were discussing how to deal with Yuto.

Although Yuto already knew Nagumo and Ryuen were preparing to target him, he was not particularly worried.

He would simply wait and see what they intended to do.

After all, any scheme Nagumo and Ryuen planned against him would never remain hidden.

Who told Yuto to possess his unbelievable mind-reading ability?

...

When Yuto entered the Class D classroom, he subconsciously glanced toward Koenji Rokusuke's seat.

He saw Koenji wearing an expression as dark as the bottom of a pot.

'Hold it in.'

'I can't laugh aloud. Laughing in my head is enough.'

'Hahahaha!'

Although Yuto had no personal grudge against Koenji, this guy acted entirely according to his own whims.

For the sake of protecting the class points and raising Class D to Class A, Yuto needed to restrain him.

Koenji's now-empty personal point balance was the rope tied around his neck.

After losing the ability to privately buy points, his only remaining way of obtaining them should be through class points.

Today, the first person to greet Yuto when he entered the classroom was not Kei or Kikyo.

It was Koenji Rokusuke.

"Yo, Shimizu-boy. How was your day yesterday?"

"Eh?"

Kei, who had been happily walking toward Yuto, stopped.

She looked in confusion at Koenji, who was enthusiastically greeting Yuto.

Why was this strange guy who mixed English into his speech even more eager to greet Yuto than she was?

Yuto glanced at Koenji's refreshing smile.

His heart settled.

Koenji had not approached him because he had discovered Yuto was the informant.

He was probably here for points.

After all, the school had confiscated all of Koenji's points.

Koenji also did not think Yuto had caused his current predicament of having no points to spend.

The two of them had always stayed out of each other's way.

Koenji merely believed the school cared too much about regulations and had therefore watched him closely for privately purchasing points.

"Koenji, what do you want from me?" Yuto asked directly.

"How straightforward, Shimizu-boy. Then I won't be polite."

"Lend me one million points," Koenji said casually.

"...Koenji, you really aren't being polite."

"Lend you one million points? Don't tell me you think one million is a small amount," Yuto said, unsure whether to laugh or cry.

"For other mediocre people, one million points is indeed a lot. It would be an astronomical number."

"But Shimizu-boy, your points should already exceed ten million. One million is a small sum to you."

"Koenji, ignore how many points I have for now."

"Why should I lend them to you? What benefit do I gain from lending you points?"

"After graduation, I'll specially recruit you into the Koenji Group and give you a position with an annual salary of ten million yen," Koenji readily stated his repayment condition.

"You already believe I belong to that family, so why would you think an offer like that could move me?" Yuto said irritably.

"Because you previously refused to admit you were from the Shimizu family."

"That was then. This is now."

Yuto smiled at Koenji.

"Let's discuss a workable arrangement."

"I intend to raise Class D to Class A, so help me. In return, I'll provide you with points to spend."

"Non, non, non. I hate being used," Koenji rejected without hesitation.

"This isn't exploitation. It's mutually beneficial cooperation."

"You need points, and I need class points. We share the same goal."

"No matter how Shimizu-boy explains it, I won't agree."

"I don't wish to waste my beautiful youth on these mediocre people."

"Then forget it."

Yuto rolled his eyes and walked past Koenji.

Kei, who stood not far ahead, immediately came over and naturally linked her arm with Yuto's.

"Yuto, what did Koenji want from you?"

"He seems to have no points left to spend, so he asked me to lend him one million."

"One million points? What nerve! Why should you lend him that much?"

"Exactly. So I refused and proposed a mutually beneficial arrangement instead, but Koenji rejected that too," Yuto said helplessly.

Koenji Rokusuke was probably the only student in Class D whom Yuto had not brought under control.

If Yuto could thoroughly handle Koenji too, then Class D could truly be considered united like an iron barrel.

Unfortunately, even without points, Koenji still had no intention of cooperating with Yuto to earn class points.

In truth, capable, bold, and intelligent students like Yuto and Koenji were destined to find other ways to obtain points.

Just now, Koenji had promised Yuto a position in the Koenji Group after graduation in exchange for borrowing his points.

Students lending points to one another did not violate school regulations.

So Koenji could promise jobs and get other students to "lend" him points.

Yuto felt third-year students would be the easiest to tempt, especially those in Classes B, C, and D.

Since they would not graduate from Class A, they could not enjoy the school's preferential treatment.

They would need to find their own jobs or universities.

If Koenji promised them positions at that moment, many third-year students from Classes B, C, and D would definitely be tempted.

'In the end, banning point sales still can't completely cut off Koenji's point supply.'

Yuto thought helplessly as he walked toward his seat with Kei.

People with guarantees, backing, and support really were difficult to handle.

Yuto had only just sat down when Suzune tossed a note onto his desk.

Had this tsundere snow fox become addicted to passing notes?

Yuto unfolded Suzune's note with an amused expression.

[Ayanokouji already spoke to me earlier. He said he has arranged for Sudo and the other two to come to the library after five this afternoon and accept my teaching. Therefore, Shimizu, you will accompany me to the library.]

[Why do I need to go too?]

[Because if you sit nearby, they will remain quiet even without you speaking.]

[Besides, isn't the library quieter than the classroom and more suitable for studying? Wouldn't it be better for you to read and study somewhere nicer?]

[Not really. I prefer studying in the classroom.]

[You gave my contact information to someone without my permission yesterday!]

[...Horikita, you've learned bad habits. You've even learned to threaten people.]

[Fine, fine. I'll go to the library with you this afternoon. Is that enough? Don't use the contact information issue to threaten me again.]

Seeing Yuto's helpless and slightly teasing reply, the corners of Suzune's lips lifted faintly.

However, the smile quickly disappeared.

She immediately returned to her cold, tsundere appearance.

...

The bell rang, and class began.

Because they had learned about class points and Yuto had established absolute control over Class D, poor students like Sudo no longer dared violate discipline during lessons.

So Class D's classroom discipline remained as excellent as it had been yesterday.

Even the teachers' voices sounded more relaxed.

After all, they also disliked students making trouble during class, and their moods were affected by it.

Time quickly passed until school ended in the afternoon.

Kei, wearing a sweet smile, once again pulled Yuto away for a date.

Suzune silently watched Yuto and Kei leave the Class D classroom.

After organizing her textbooks, she picked up her school bag and headed toward the library.

...

Only twenty minutes remained before their agreed meeting time of five o'clock.

Yuto finished the last sip of his milk tea and turned toward Kei, who was lazily resting against his shoulder.

"Kei, it's almost five. Time to study."

"Ahhh..."

Kei made a reluctant and resistant sound.

She moved her head, brushing her honey-colored hair against Yuto's arm as she acted spoiled.

Suddenly, an idea came to her.

She lifted her head and suggested happily, "Yuto, how about we don't go back to the classroom to study?"

"Your grades are excellent, so you can teach me here alone!"

They were in a cafe.

If they studied here, she could be alone with Yuto.

Surrounded by the sweet atmosphere of their date, Kei felt studying might not be so miserable after all.

"That would be fine, but I promised Horikita I would go to the library at five."

"How about we study there instead?" Yuto asked.

"Mm... Fine."

Kei nodded.

Although the library was not as comfortable as the cafe, at least there would be fewer people than in the classroom.

"Still, Yuto, why did Horikita-san ask you to go to the library?"

"Because she cares about others."

"She wants to teach Sudo and the others so they won't be expelled after failing the midterm."

Yuto briefly explained Suzune's plan to tutor Sudo and the others.

Surprise appeared on Kei's face.

She had not expected Suzune, who seemed so unapproachable, to care about other people.

She was unexpectedly warm-hearted.

Kei could never be that enthusiastic toward people she barely knew, especially unfamiliar boys.

Afterward, Yuto paid the bill.

Kei held his arm as they walked toward the school library together.

...

Perhaps because the midterm exam was only three weeks away, there were still surprisingly many students studying in the library even though it was almost five in the afternoon.

A strong and tense academic atmosphere seemed to fill the air.

Under that atmosphere, students in the library instinctively spoke in lowered voices.

Suzune had been right.

The library really was better and more suitable for studying and reading than the Class D classroom.

Yuto and Kei saw Suzune at an empty table to one side.

She sat upright with a dignified posture, looking so stern that no one dared approach her to share the table.

Yuto pointed toward Suzune and whispered to Kei, "Kei, sit with Horikita for a while. I'm going to choose a famous novel."

"Fine."

Kei released Yuto's arm and walked toward Suzune with her school bag.

Since she now believed Suzune was cold on the outside but warm on the inside, Kei took the initiative to greet her.

"Good afternoon, Horikita-san~"

"Karuizawa-san... Why are you here too?"

Suzune asked in instinctive surprise.

Then she realized she had asked a rather foolish question.

Everyone in Class D knew Kei was Yuto's girlfriend and often stayed beside him.

So Kei had obviously followed Yuto to the library.

"I came with Yuto."

'As expected...'

Kei looked at Suzune, whose expression remained blank but had somehow become slightly colder.

She blinked her lively eyes.

"I didn't expect you to be such a warm-hearted person, Horikita-san."

"You're actually willing to teach those poor students."

"It has nothing to do with you."

"You..."

Kei's cheeks puffed up slightly after Suzune's cold response.

She angrily picked up her school bag and left.

She had no intention of sitting at the same table as someone so cold and unapproachable!

Suzune glanced at the irritated Kei as she walked away and lightly huffed.

It was better that she left.

At least that woman would not cling to Yuto later and interfere with Suzune teaching Sudo and the others.

...

Meanwhile, Yuto had already reached the mystery section of the library.

The bookshelves there were filled with world-famous mystery novels.
