Sunlight filtered through the tall windows of the Everglow mansion, casting warm golden light across Artorius's bedroom. Birds chirped somewhere in the gardens outside, and the distant clatter of servants preparing breakfast echoed faintly through the halls.
Artorius stretched his arms as he sat up from bed.
"Alright," he muttered to himself. "Today's the day."
After eating breakfast and making sure no one would disturb him, he returned to his room to prepare for something most people in his world would consider impossible.
His first journey to another world.
Artorius sat on the edge of his bed and opened the Menu.
A translucent window appeared before his eyes.
He navigated to the Inventory tab and reviewed the equipment he received from the tutorial rewards.
"Leather plate armor… leggings… gloves… boots… and a copper sword."
He tapped the Equip button.
Instantly, the equipment icons flashed.
A moment later, the armor was automatically registered as equipped.
Artorius blinked.
"…Convenient."
He glanced down at his body.
The armor wasn't physically visible, but according to the system it was fully equipped.
"So the system handles the equipment without me needing to actually wear it," he murmured. "That's surprisingly useful."
After that, he began preparing supplies.
Since he had no idea what conditions awaited him in another world, Artorius packed several essentials into his Inventory.
-Twenty sandwiches filled with meat and vegetables
-Ten liters of bottled water
-A small set of basic travel items
"Better to be overprepared than underprepared," he said with a nod.
Finally, he opened the Travel tab.
The name of the world appeared on the screen.
Target World: Eiras
Artorius took a deep breath.
"Well then…"
He pressed the Travel button.
Immediately, Travy's calm voice echoed in his mind.
"Preparing to depart."
"Beginning World Jump in ten seconds."
Artorius stood up instinctively.
Then—
A magic circle suddenly appeared beneath his feet.
It glowed with soft blue light as intricate runes slowly formed along its edges.
Artorius stared down at it, fascinated.
"I can't read these runes…"
That was strange.
Artorius was highly skilled in magic and ancient languages, yet these symbols were completely unfamiliar.
"Maybe they're ancient runes," he whispered.
Then he shook his head.
"…Or something from another world entirely."
Travy continued the countdown.
"Three…"
The magic circle began spinning slowly.
"Two…"
The runes started glowing brighter.
"One."
"Initiating World Jump."
A burst of brilliant light erupted from the circle.
Artorius instinctively shut his eyes as the brightness engulfed him.
For a moment, it felt like the world itself had disappeared.
Then—
The light slowly faded.
A gentle breeze brushed against his face.
Artorius opened his eyes.
And immediately froze.
"…Whoa."
Before him stretched an endless plain of vibrant green grass. Rolling hills extended far into the distance, swaying softly beneath the wind like waves in a living ocean.
The sky above was vast and bright blue, with fluffy clouds drifting lazily overhead.
A few unfamiliar birds circled high in the air.
The air itself felt… different.
Fresher.
Richer with mana.
Artorius slowly turned in place, absorbing the scenery.
"So this is…"
A notification appeared.
Welcome to Eiras.
Mission List Updated.
"Please check the Mission tab for more information."
Artorius opened the tab.
A new quest appeared.
Mission Name: Slime Destroyer
Mission Info: Defeat 5 Slimes within the surrounding plains.
Rewards:
-Adventure Level Experience: 10
-Slime Ring (Rarity: Z)
-10 Copper Coins
Artorius stared at the quest name.
"…Slime Destroyer?"
He scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"Why does that sound like I'm about to drive slimes into extinction?"
Still, it seemed like a beginner quest.
"Well… might as well start somewhere."
He began walking across the plains.
The wind rustled the grass softly around him as he searched for monsters.
After a few minutes of wandering, he finally spotted something bouncing slowly through the grass.
A slime.
It was small—about the size of a basketball.
Its body was translucent and jelly-like, and inside its body floated a small spherical core.
Artorius crouched slightly.
"So they look exactly like the slimes back home."
Slimes existed in his world as well, though they were usually considered the weakest monsters.
He drew his copper sword.
"Let's try this."
The slime noticed him and bounced forward slowly.
Artorius stepped forward.
With a quick, clean swing—
Slash.
The blade cut straight through the slime's body.
The monster collapsed instantly.
A small core dropped onto the grass.
Artorius picked it up.
"…That was easy."
He stored the slime core in his Inventory.
"Four more to go."
The plains were peaceful, and the weather was pleasant. As he continued walking, Artorius almost felt like he was simply enjoying a relaxing stroll.
Occasionally he spotted another slime bouncing lazily through the grass.
Each encounter ended the same way.
One quick strike.
Another slime core.
After about thirty minutes of relaxed exploration, Artorius defeated the fifth slime.
A notification appeared instantly.

Status Updated
-Status Level increased by 1
-New Skill acquired
"For more information, please check the Status tab."
Artorius stretched his shoulders.
"Nice."
Then he paused.
"Oh right."
He raised a question.
"Travy, can you explain the currency system of this world?"
"Of course," Travy replied.
"The standard currency used across most regions of Eiras consists of six coin types."
A small information panel appeared.
"From lowest to highest value:
-Bronze Coins
-Copper Coins
-Silver Coins
-Gold Coins
-Platinum Coins
-Royal Gold Coins"
Artorius nodded slowly.
"And the exchange rate?"
"Each tier requires 100 coins of the lower tier to convert into one coin of the higher tier."
Artorius quickly did the math.
"So that means…"
He opened his Inventory.
"I currently have 10 copper coins."
"That is equivalent to 1,000 bronze coins."
Artorius whistled quietly.
"Not bad for a beginner quest."
He then checked the new equipment reward.
Slime Ring (Rarity: Z)
Active Effect:
+1 Intelligence
Passive Effect:
Gain 10% additional Status Experience when defeating slimes.
"I see."
Artorius smiled slightly.
"So it's a beginner item designed for slime hunting."
He equipped the ring.
A faint warmth passed through his body as the bonus took effect.
Then he asked another question.
"Travy, could you give me a proper explanation about equipment systems?"
"Certainly."
A small informational panel appeared beside the Menu.
"Equipment within the Travel Guide system is categorized by rarity tiers. The current tiers range from Z-rank to A-rank, with Z being the lowest rarity."
Artorius nodded.
"That matches the Slime Ring I just received."
"Correct."
Travy continued.
"However, the system is adaptive. If an item stronger than A-rank is discovered, new rarity tiers will automatically be generated."
"Generated?" Artorius asked curiously.
"Yes. For example, if an item surpasses A-rank, the system will create a new tier called AZ. If even stronger equipment appears, the next tier becomes AA, and the pattern will continue."
Artorius rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"So the system expands depending on what kind of items exist in different worlds."
"Correct."
"That's… actually pretty amazing."
Travy continued the explanation.
"Equipment provides two main types of effects: Active Effects and Passive Effects."
Another window appeared beside the Slime Ring's description.
"Active Effects only function when the item is currently equipped."
Artorius looked at his ring.
"So the +1 Intelligence bonus is an Active Effect."
"Correct."
"Meanwhile," Travy continued, "Passive Effects function even when the equipment is not currently equipped."
Artorius raised an eyebrow.
"So even if I take off the ring, I'll still gain extra experience when killing slimes?"
"Yes."
"That's surprisingly generous."
Travy paused briefly before continuing.
"The next concept is Set Bonuses."
Artorius glanced at his armor icons.
"Let me guess… wearing matching equipment?"
"Correct."
A new panel appeared.
Current Set Bonus: Full-Bodied Leather Armor
Effect: Vitality +2
Artorius looked down at his equipment list.
"So my leather plate, leggings, gloves, and boots count as a set."
"Yes."
"If additional pieces belonging to the same set are equipped, stronger bonuses may be unlocked."
Artorius smiled slightly.
"That's very game-like."
"Finally," Travy said, "there is the concept of Durability."
Artorius nodded for Travy to continue.
"Armor durability decreases whenever you receive damage."
"Makes sense."
"The stronger the impact, the greater the durability loss."
"And weapons?" Artorius asked.
"Weapons lose durability each time they strike an enemy."
Artorius glanced at his copper sword.
"So if I fight too much, my sword could break."
"Correct."
"And once durability reaches zero," Travy continued, "the item will become unusable."
"Can it be repaired?"
"Yes."
A small hammer icon appeared beside the durability stat.
"Equipment can be repaired by a blacksmith. However, depending on the blacksmith's skill, repairs may slightly reduce the item's maximum durability."
Artorius grimaced slightly.
"So poorly repaired gear becomes weaker over time."
"Correct."
"Proper maintenance can also extend equipment lifespan."
Artorius stretched his arms slightly.
"That's a lot of information, but it all makes sense."
Travy asked politely,
"Do you have any additional questions regarding equipment?"
"Not for now."
Artorius closed the equipment panel.
"Let's check my Status next."

He opened the Status Tab.

"So my abilities from my home world carried over."
"Correct," Travy replied.
"Skills and attributes acquired prior to obtaining the Travel Guide are preserved."
"That's a relief."
He focused on the magic skills.
"All my elemental spells are still here."
Fire, wind, earth, water, and lightning.
"Looks like I'm still a mage."
"Your combat capabilities remain unchanged," Travy confirmed.
Artorius also noticed the bonuses.
"The extra numbers next to the stats… those are from equipment, right?"
"Yes."
"The leather armor set provides Vitality bonuses, while the Slime Ring provides Intelligence."
Artorius nodded.
"That explains the stat increase."
As he continued reviewing his Status, another notification appeared.
Mission Updated
Artorius opened the panel.

Title:Newbie Adventurer

Artorius smiled slightly.
"So the system is guiding me toward becoming an adventurer."
"That is correct," Travy said.
He looked around the vast plains.
"But how do I even find this town?"
As if answering his question, a new notification appeared.
New Features Available
Would you like to download:
-Compass System
-World Language Translation
Artorius blinked.
"Oh."
"That sounds extremely useful."
He nodded.
"Proceed."
"Downloading features," Travy replied.
The moment the download began—
A sudden surge of pain shot through Artorius's head.
"Gah—!"
He grabbed his forehead.
It felt like thousands of pieces of information were being forced into his brain all at once.
Maps.
Languages.
Directions.
Symbols.
The sensation lasted only a few seconds, but it felt overwhelming.
Finally—
The pain faded.
Artorius exhaled slowly.
"…That hurt."
"Installation complete," Travy announced calmly.
Artorius blinked a few times.
Something felt different.
In the corner of his vision, a faint compass arrow appeared.
It pointed toward a specific direction.
"Is that the compass?"
"Yes."
"The Compass System will guide you toward nearby roads, settlements, and mission objectives."
Artorius tested it by turning his body.
The arrow adjusted smoothly.
"Wow."
"It's basically a magical GPS."
"Correct."
He then noticed something else.
Written words on a nearby stone marker that previously looked like meaningless symbols now suddenly made sense.
"…Wait."
He walked closer.
The language was unfamiliar, but he could clearly understand it.
"Roste Road – East Route."
Artorius looked impressed.
"So the World Language Translation feature lets me read and understand the local language."
"Yes."
"That's incredibly helpful."
Without it, traveling between worlds would have been extremely difficult.
"Alright," Artorius said with renewed energy.
"Let's head toward this Roste Town."
He began following the compass.
The plains stretched endlessly around him as the wind brushed against the tall grass.
Occasionally, he encountered more slimes bouncing through the fields.
Each one fell quickly to his sword.
By the time the town walls finally appeared in the distance, Artorius had defeated ten additional slimes.
