The desert was silent, with nothing but endless dunes stretching beneath the fading sunlight.
Amun sat on top of a sandy hill, his elbows resting on his knees as he stared into the distance.
His face was scrunched up in deep thought.
Lowering his head, he whispered, "...I shouldn't have gone to the Golden Palace and met you, Azreal."
His voice was so faint that it never even reached his ears.
His fingers moved unconsciously through the sand while he waited for the God of the Sun to arrive.
"...Everything will go as I thought," he whispered so softly. "No God shall control my fate other than me."
It wasn't long before a golden chariot appeared in the distance, approaching the hill at an incredible speed before stopping directly in front of him.
Ra stepped down, his golden armor shining beneath the sunlight as he looked at Amun.
"Have you been waiting long?"
Amun stood up and brushed the sand from his clothes. "Not really. Are you ready?"
