( Eiran Pov )
" Eiran Ash, 15, male, single, and good karma." The man or God read my profile from a paper before setting it in front of me.
I glanced at it for a few seconds before looking back at God, who crossed his arms. He tapped his chin as he observed me.
" Sigh, do you want to know why your world had zombies?" I raised an eyebrow as I was curious about the Zombie infection.
" The world that you were in was corrupted by a virus that I didn't expect to see. In fact, the virus was supposed to be destroyed or cured by a chosen one, but it seems they didn't succeed." He explained.
I stared at the empty space.
' Everything... was all because someone couldn't stop it...?' I closed my eyes and sighed as I dropped my forehead onto God's desk.
I felt defeated and just wanted to rest.
" You can't rest now. Because I have an idea." God smiled as he slid a paper in front of me.
" Another chance. To become someone greater." I grabbed the paper and read it. The paper explained the contents.
I sighed and tossed the paper back to God and nodded my head, agreeing to the offer.
" I accept..." I answered.
I knew I was signing my life away, but to achieve the dreams of me and Kashima's was the only option I had at the moment.
We both wanted to reincarnate into different worlds like the manga and animes we both enjoyed.
I took the pen and signed my name on the paper, I looked up at God, who slightly nodded and took the paper, and just as he did, it disappeared as he stood up.
Having no choice, I followed him as he walked in the void, and I didn't hesitate to follow him. I didn't keep my eyes off of him.
He is the only person I could see in front of me, but soon he stopped as he took out a book.
" We are here. This is the realm of reincarnation." He spoke, turning to look at me as he handed me a book.
" As the contract stated, you would pick three perks, unlike skills that could be leveled up. These would give passive effects, and in return, you would need to pick one side effect."
' A side effect... does it depend on the person I choose?' I thought as I looked up at God and voiced my thought.
" Does it depend on the effect of the perks I choose?" I asked.
" Yes." He replied, replied. I nodded and looked into the book.
There were many perks inside that described every single one. Some were strong, others looked weak and some useless.
One could stop time for a short while, one increased a loot drop, and one was just to act cool or badass for appearance, which I'm not going to lie, are tempting.
I started to look at a few more until a few managed to catch my eyes.
[ Adaptability: Gives the user a chance to adapt to your surroundings and a 25% degree to develop a skill. ]
[ Copy: The user is able to copy another's skill/techniques after seeing them once.]
[ Skill absorption: Able to absorb skills from your dead enemies you've slain.]
[ Regeneration: Able to regenerate the users' bodies to peak conditions out of battle.]
[ Ghost: Automatically hides the user in battle]
[ Scavenger: Find weapons, items, and loot when scavenging. ]
[ Last Stand: Grant's the user 2x boost in stats when near death.]
[ Charmer: Increases your chances to charm your way in any situation.]
[ Blade mastery: 2x boost in attack and speed when wielding a bladed weapon. ]
[ Reset: Able to turn back time for 15 seconds before the user is killed. ]
[ Venomous Fangs: gives the user fangs, when biting an enemy they will be poisoned.]
[ Death Mark: highlights your enemies in red]
[ Master Crafter: half the time to craft and less material, 25% chance to craft a rare item.]
[ Iron skin: Reduces damage by half.]
[ Steel Skeleton: Bones will be hardened as steel and reduce the chances for a broken limb. ]
[ Reset ] [ Adaptability] and [ Scavenger] were my choices, but yet I still felt undecided as I looked over at the perks again.
I don't know what world I'll be going into, but just in case I picked [ Reset ] in case I am about to be sent into a world of chaos.
[ Adaptability] was also the second choice so I could be able to adapt to the new world and my surroundings.
And finally, the [Scavenger]. I'm having second thoughts about this skill, but I see the chance to find loot anywhere with a guaranteed find.
Reminding myself of the curse or sebiff I have to choose depending on my perks was also plauging my mind as I wanted to lower the Perk skill to [ Charmer ] instead.
' Sigh, I'm not really a great talker or... but to find loot... I might find a legendary weapon in a closet like in a game if I'm lucky enough.' I closed my eyes before looking for any other skills.
' Fuck it ill choose thos one!' I thought as I looked at the other low teir skills that were almost useless like knitting or increased boost in libido.
[ Smooth talker: Increases persuasion and Charisma skills in getting better deals or smooth you way our of a tense situation.]
It was a skill that was lower than [ Charmer ] but it was a perk that could do well in making friends and contacts in an unfamiliar world.
" These three, please." I said as I marked the three perks. God nodded and took the book back before either disappeared from his hand.
" Depending on these choices, these are your debuffs." God snapped his fimger and a system like panel showed infromt of me surprising me as I took a step back.
I felt my eyes widening as I saw the panel.
" No way...." I blurted out as I ran my finger through the cold metallic panel. But with enough force my finger wwmt passed the panel.
God chuckled as he started explaining the debuffs.
" Your choices." He spoke and I snapped back to reality as I focused on the letters in the panel.
[ Epidemic Exhaustion: Gives the user a wave of fatigue and weakness at irregular intervals. ]
[Necrotic Numbness: The user would feel numbness or paralyzed when after sleeping. ]
[ Insomnia: Disrupts sleeping patterns, may weaken the users mental and physical stat. ]
[ Paranoia: User may second guess and will always doubt their surroundings.]
From these four choices, I picked [ Paranoia ]. Even before arriving here, I would always be on alert from danger, especially when the school became infested with zombies.
No one trusted each other because many survi or lied about being infected or hiding a bit or scratch. It didn't really bother me because I already spent three days paranoid in the school.
I was always wondering if aomown would try to kill me for food or turn in a second even the oddest behavior would alert everyone.
" This one." I touched the panel before it started changing to another screen.
[ Please choose your class! ]
[ Warrior ]
[ Mage ]
[ Tank ]
[ Healer ]
[ ranger ]
[ Rogue ]
Out of all the classes, I chose Rogue since it was the closest to an assassin, and I hoped there was a class upgrade for it.
And not to mention, I'm used to sneaking and attacking from behind since the zombies in my previous world were sensitive to sound.
[ Ding! You've chosen [ Rogue ], and you are awared the following skills! ]
[ Silent steps: Reduces the sound of the users' footsteps. ] [ 0/10 ]
[ Sense: Sense the presence of others. ] [0/10]
[ Gleaming Lines: Reveals a line of light that guides the users' blade to their enemy's exposed fatal area.]
' Gleaming lines... I feel like I've heard that somewhere...' I tried to rack my brain from all the manga and anime I've watched and tried to remember the skill.
But nothing came as I sighed and decided to forget it and looked at God.
" Is that all?" I asked as I looked down at the panel.
" You're world that you'll be reincarnating into." He smiled as he motioned his hand to me to follow him.
I sighed and walked behind him as he pulled out a scroll.
" This is it." He spoke as he turned toward me and looked at me with a serious face.
" Hello!!" A woman with a wooden boat arrived as I felt a shiver run down my spine as I turned to look at her.
" I'm your gaurdian angel! And I'm here to take you through reincarnation!" She posed as I deadpanned at her cringe pose.
