As the pieces fell, Athenia was back inside her prison, and her mortal body remained in the city of Aurum. She'd reunited mothers with their children, even helped free the faeries, but unlike everyone else, her job wasn't yet done. Trying to part the veil that had turned into a raging storm–thanks to the countless versions of Nerva flooding it–proved more than a little difficult.
Knowing exactly what was going on, they'd taken hold of the needle-fine space. Keeping it packed and with not so much as a finger's gap between them.
'They'll have to give up sometime…' Athenia thought, hoping that they would give way for her to pass. But it was clear that only after the demon lord had been defeated would there even be a chance that the veil would be freed. 'I can't talk to my other version. Tsk…I hope she's fine. This whole thing wouldn't have been possible without her.'
