During the brief moment of unconsciousness after his fight against Hamleth, echoes of hard-soled shoes rang in the back of Raven's head. Each click was louder than the last, ringing in his head like a din, and when it was only in his ears, the color white pushed back the darkness of his unconsciousness. Dazed, he looked around, his left hand nonexistent beyond the arm.
Flexing the joint, he felt the phantom presence of his limb, but there was nothing there. The lack of a limb, yet the feeling of it moving it around, reminded him of when he'd lost his eye–though that memory was so distant, it made him question if there was any difference between his real eye and the replacement.
