Bruno recalled Hitmonlee with a proud and respectful nod, the kicking specialist returning to its Poké Ball after a valiant effort despite its earlier exhaustion.
The open grassy field of Kinnow Island was now heavily scarred deep craters, frozen patches, torn-up earth, and flattened grass told the story of the intense battles that had already taken place.
"You fought with great heart, Hitmonlee,"
Bruno said warmly before turning his gaze to Ash. "Now for the final round. Golem, let's finish this!"
The massive Rock/Ground-type materialized with a heavy, earth-shaking thud.
Golem rolled forward slightly, its rocky body gleaming under the afternoon sun, exuding raw durability and power.
The ground trembled beneath its weight as it settled into a defensive stance, ready for the decisive clash.
Ash recalled Annileape with sincere praise.
"You turned the tide perfectly. Great work, Annileape. Rest now."
The fighter monkey returned with a satisfied roar.
Ash took a deep breath, his eyes sharp with determination. "Shiny Frigibax, you're up! Let's end this!"
The shiny Frigibax appeared in a flash of icy blue light, its crystalline scales sparkling beautifully in the sunlight.
The small Dragon/Ice-type stood firm, its eyes burning with fighting spirit despite the size difference against the towering Golem.
Bruno take a look at the small dragon." Dragon type Pokemon huh, and to boost it's a shiny lance would have orgasam if he say an new type of dragon Pokemon ash were do you caught him."
Ash with a proud look said." I caught him near an avalanche, do be surprised be his size he is a wild one in battle field so let us give you and unforgettable battle."
Bruno with a boastful laugh." Hahaha that's is why i am here."
The final round began.
Bruno wasted no time. "Golem, Rock Slide!"
Golem roared and slammed its massive body into the ground.
Huge boulders erupted from the earth and hurtled toward Frigibax like a rocky avalanche. The attack was overwhelming in scale.
Ash called out quickly. "Frigibax, Ice Shard barrage!"
Frigibax fired a volley of sharp ice shards, shattering some of the incoming rocks, but many still crashed around it.
The little dragon was forced to dodge desperately, leaping and sliding across the field as debris rained down.
Golem followed up with a powerful Earthquake, the ground heaving violently and making it difficult for Frigibax to maintain balance.
Misty gasped. "Frigibax is so small compared to that thing! Be careful!"
Sabrina watched intently. "Golem is using its size and durability to dominate the space. Frigibax needs to use its speed and Dragon moves."
Daisy clenched her hands. "Come on, little one… you can do this!"
Giselle bit her lip. "It's struggling, but it's not giving up…"
Tracey sketched rapidly. "The size difference is massive! This is a true David vs Goliath moment!"
At first, Golem clearly toyed with Frigibax.
The Rock-type used its superior reach and power to control the battlefield, launching Rock Throw after Rock Throw while Frigibax darted between attacks, barely landing clean hits.
Frigibax tried Dragon Rage and Bite, but Golem's rocky armor shrugged off most of the damage, the giant Pokémon even seeming to chuckle as it rolled forward, forcing Frigibax to retreat repeatedly.
The young Dragon-type was getting pushed back, taking several heavy hits that left visible cracks in its icy scales. Yet Frigibax refused to back down.
Its Dragon nature burned brightly a fierce, unyielding will that refused to yield despite the overwhelming disadvantage.
Ash's voice rang out clear and encouraging.
"Frigibax, don't give up! Use your Dragon Rush!"
Frigibax roared and cloaked itself in draconic energy, charging forward with surprising ferocity.
It slammed into Golem's side, the impact finally making the giant stagger slightly.
Encouraged, Frigibax followed up with Ice Shard and Dragon Pulse, chipping away at Golem's rocky exterior.
Now Golem was the one struggling to defend. Bruno's eyes narrowed.
"Interesting… the little dragon has spirit. Golem, use Earthquake again!"
The field shook violently once more.
Frigibax was tossed into the air but recovered mid-fall with surprising grace, firing a Dragon Pulse that struck Golem squarely in the chest.
The battle turned into a thrilling back-and-forth. Frigibax's speed and Dragon moves allowed it to dance around Golem's slower, heavier attacks, landing hit after hit while Golem tried to crush it with Rock Slide and Heavy Slam.
The girls and Tracey were on the edge of their seats, cheering wildly with every successful strike from Frigibax.
Misty shouted. "That's it! Keep moving and strike!"
Sabrina's voice was calm but excited. "Its Dragon typing is giving it the edge in willpower."
Daisy cheered. "You're doing great, Frigibax!"
Giselle pumped her fist. "Don't stop now!"
Tracey's sketches captured the dramatic moments Frigibax leaping between boulders, Golem's massive fists slamming down, ice and rock clashing in spectacular fashion.
Bruno, with all his experience as an Elite Four member, saw the shift and acted decisively.
"Golem, Stone Edge into Rollout combo!"
Golem summoned sharp stones that erupted around Frigibax, trapping it momentarily, then rolled forward with tremendous speed and power.
The Rollout attack caught Frigibax directly, slamming the small dragon hard and sending it tumbling across the field.
Frigibax received massive damage, skidding to a stop near Ash's feet, breathing heavily and struggling to stand.
The field fell into a tense silence for a moment.
Ash knelt slightly, his voice full of encouragement and belief. "Frigibax! I know you're hurting, but I believe in you! You've fought so bravely show them the true power of a Dragon! Get up and fight!"
Frigibax's eyes flashed with determination. It pushed itself up on trembling legs, letting out a mighty shout that echoed across the entire island.
A brilliant white glow suddenly enveloped its body, growing brighter and brighter. The light intensified until it was almost blinding.
With a powerful, transformative roar, Frigibax evolved.
The glow exploded outward, revealing the newly evolved Arctibax larger, more majestic, with sharper icy crystals, stronger draconic features, and an aura of cold power that made the air around it drop in temperature.
Snowflakes began to swirl gently around the evolved Pokémon as it stood tall, roaring with renewed strength.
The girls and Tracey erupted in cheers.
Misty jumped with joy. "It evolved! Arctibax looks so strong!"
Sabrina smiled brightly. "The evolution came at the perfect moment."
Daisy clapped excitedly. "Beautiful! Look at that power!"
Giselle's eyes sparkled. "It's amazing!"
Tracey sketched the evolution moment with awe. "The glow, the roar… this is unforgettable!"
Bruno's eyes widened in respect. "An evolution mid-battle? Impressive, Ash!"
Arctibax immediately went on the offensive with new power.
It unleashed a devastating Dragon Rush combined with Icy Wind, the attacks far stronger than before.
Golem tried to defend with Stone Edge, but Arctibax powered through, its icy aura freezing parts of Golem's rocky body.
The newly evolved Pokémon dominated the remainder of the battle. Arctibax used its enhanced speed and power to land heavy hits Dragon Pulse after Dragon Pulse, combined with Ice Shard barrages that chipped away at Golem's defenses.
Golem fought valiantly with Earthquake and Heavy Slam, but Arctibax's new form allowed it to dodge and counter with precision.
With one final, powerful Dragon Pulse enhanced by its icy energy, Arctibax struck Golem directly in the center, causing the massive Rock-type to stagger and collapse.
Arctibax defeats Golem!
Bruno recalled Golem with a broad, respectful smile. "Well fought, Golem. You gave it your all."
He walked forward and extended his hand to Ash. "Congratulations, Ash Ketchum. You win 2-1 against me. You've truly grown into a worthy challenger. The Kanto Elite Four will be watching your progress closely."
Ash shook Bruno's hand firmly, a proud smile on his face. "Thank you, Bruno. It was an honor battling you."
The girls rushed forward, hugging Ash and congratulating both him and Arctibax.
The newly evolved Pokémon nuzzled against Ash happily as the group celebrated under the open sky of Kinnow Island.
With another Elite Four victory secured, Ash felt one step closer to his ultimate goals in the Orange League and beyond.
The journey continued.
