Chapter 109 - Chapter 109

A Campione – a Godslayer – is a supreme ruler.

Since he can kill a celestial being, he can therefore call on the sacrosanct, divine powers wielded by the gods.

A Campione – a Godslayer – is a lord.

Since the power to kill a deity is in his hands, he therefore looms over all mortals on Earth.

A Campione – a Godslayer – is a devil.

Since among all mortals who live in the world, none can assume a power to match his!

Those are the words that fit the description of a Campione. I can feel my body getting stronger. It is not as big a boost as I thought I would get when I became a Campione, but it is still a two-times boost. It looks like the Jiraiya and Yamato templates carry a lot.

However, the other abilities are what catch my attention.

For one, it boosts all energy types inside my body. Chakra? Mana? Qi? Aura? Yes. By becoming a Campione, that title boosts those energies by five times. However, that is not the only thing granted to me by becoming a Campione. I now receive massive resistance against magic. Only divine-tier magic can break my resistance, and even then, its power will be reduced by a lot. I can concentrate and release this resistance as a blast of antimagic that crumbles the barrier or ward around a building or even the city if I want to.

However, I need to be careful because it still works if something enters my body. This resistance works best when it comes from the outside. Poison or liquid magic that enters my body will work. It still faces resistance, and poison will be negated after some time if that poison does not kill me outright.

Lastly, my soul. My soul gets bigger and stronger than before. Before, my soul would disappear into an afterlife; now, I can stay in the mortal world and even resurrect if I have a way to do so. This is also the reason why the Devil race cannot resurrect a God. Their Evil Piece cannot resurrect someone with a heavy and massive soul.

That is, of course, if we ignore the Authorities of the Gods that Campione usurps.

Speaking of Authorities, I have a lot of them. I have seven Authorities, and I can use them at full power. It turns out that fighting in Ragnarok-like battles and killing a few god-like beings increased the template to the point where I can use his power at full strength.

I have yet to gain his experience as a Campione and fighter, but I can use all of his Authorities to the fullest.

The strongest one is the ability he usurped from Apollo Lyceus. It is an ability that was originally used to summon a Divine Wolf that embodies the sun itself. However, instead of summoning one, I can become the said Divine Wolf.

However, I can summon a dozen wolves that are as strong as high-rank beings, or I can summon a single wolf that is as strong as a low-level Ultimate-rank being. Sadly, I cannot do both at once.

Why is this Authority so powerful? It is because of its characteristics. When I turn into the wolf, I will grow stronger according to the position of the sun. When it reaches its peak, I will receive the biggest boost to all my physical stats and all of my other powers. That includes my Authorities and my template-related powers.

Yeah. That shit is broken.

I am already deadly enough when I am in my wolf form, but when the sun is above me, I can get even stronger than before. What makes this power even more busted is that I do not need to worry about my body getting weak at night.

As long as this Authority is fully activated, the sun will never set. I will not get the full boost, but I still get a boost.

The next one is the Eyes of Sodom. According to the memory I received, this Authority was usurped from an amalgamation of a Heretic God. What does that mean? That means it is a proper Heretic God, but its origin is so convoluted that it mimics other Authorities.

It sounds like this Authority comes from a God with eye-related power, right? Such as Ra, Horus, or Balor. Nope. It comes from a Heretic God that assumes the name of Horatius Cocles. Yeah. It is the one-eyed Roman soldier who has the power to turn living beings into salt.

Campione's universe is wack, yo!

Anyway, yeah. This Authority lets me turn living beings into salt. They become salt statues that are still alive. It is something meant to torture my victims. It does not work against powerful beings, but it can temporarily immobilize them by turning their legs to salt.

Or I can use this power like Medusa from Fate. She uses it against corrupted Saber, right? It will not turn someone powerful into salt, but I can make them stop for a moment, and a moment is something that can turn the tide of battle.

Lastly, my vision extends several kilometers, and I can see through objects without hindrance.

The third one is called Undead Servants. It is an Authority coming from Osiris. It allows me to turn someone I slay into undead servants that cannot disobey my orders. They will retain their ability, albeit at 85% strength initially, and even their fighting experience. They cannot knowingly hold back from breaking the chain I put on them.

Not only that, when fully invoked, I can use it on a graveyard to summon the undead to act as troops. All of them are enhanced, but not reaching the mid-rank level. However, what makes this powerful is the fact that I can take control of an unlimited number of undead.

Lastly, I can even turn a divine beast into an undead to serve under me. They will only have 85% of their original strength, but that is still a lot, depending on which divine beast it was.

Give me enough time, and I can create a home base full of skeletons that can ambush any attacker daring to invade Vindicare.

The next one is Sturm und Drang. It is an Authority from the Chinese Weather Trio. When fully activated, I can control Earth's weather on a global scale. I can control rain, lightning, and wind. This is a very destructive Authority that affects a very wide area.

I can control the rain and, through it, the water. Sadly, it is the weakest out of them in one-on-one battles. Control over water is very limited because it embodies rain, not water. It is destructive if I want to mess with someone. A massive and strong rain for a week straight can mess with your country, after all.

Lightning, on the other hand… it is absolute control. I can summon a very powerful lightning bolt from the sky or my body. How powerful is it? Around twenty times more powerful than natural lightning at minimum, and when I push it to the limit… I don't know.

Not only that, as long as I concentrate, I can make my body resist any lightning-based attack by controlling the lightning coming at me. Sadly, when my concentration breaks, it is over.

The same goes for wind. I can create a massive typhoon that destroys anything in its path or create wind so sharp that I can cut through a god's flesh. I can also fly when I activate this Authority.

I can also combine the elements. I can combine both my aerokinesis and hyetokinesis to create a blizzard. It is strong enough to make fire-natured Gods weaker.

The next one is Singing Spellbook. This one comes from Baphomet. It allows me to summon a book; all the magic that exists on Earth can be written and executed successfully through this spellbook.

Is it OP? Yes. Back home, some spells can hurt even Gods. The only reason why this ability is not very good back in the Campione universe is that human spells are not really useful against Gods, at least almost all of them.

However, because of Voban, this power takes the form of a little girl who will cast spells for me. That old bastard is too lazy to read, and his Authority decides to take the form of this little girl, so he does not need to read the book.

As expected from someone from the 18th century who is starting as a common soldier.

I wonder if she is willing to give me a copy of the spells. I want to study them so I can cast them myself instead of depending on her.

Anyway! This book will continue to be updated each time I arrive in a new world. In Voban's hands, this book only receives one world's spells. However, I am different. I can go from one world to another.

Not only that, but this Authority is also able to steal spells from someone. It takes time for it to contain all the spells in the world, and I need to continue to actively use this Authority for a few days or even months to let it copy all known spells in the world.

So, it allows me to steal arcane knowledge from someone directly, and I do not need to activate this Authority actively. It will take time, and it will be easier to steal from the dead, but it will be instant when I have her on my side.

The next one is Otherland's Dragon. This one comes from Inanna. It allows me to project my soul from my body and transform it into a massive black dragon. When I am in this form, I am stronger than even my wolf form and able to use a dragon's basic perks, such as fire breath and flight. Not only that, I can even go from one dimension to another—not another world, but dimensions such as Heaven, Earth, and Hell.

Sadly, there is a massive downside to this Authority. My mortal body will be very vulnerable. Is it easy to kill? Not really. I still have a Campione's physique, after all. However, my Campione's magic resistance disappears in this state as it is transferred to my dragon's soul.

Not only that, but my body also gains a massive weakness against dragon-slaying attacks while this Authority is active.

I don't think I will use this power anytime soon. My wolf form is better because it introduces no major weaknesses.

The last one is Red Punishment. This one is a straightforward Authority coming from Zhurong. This allows me to summon massive fire that can even reduce Gods to ashes. The massive fireball appears from the sky, and anything hit by it will be turned to ashes. When it falls to the ground, it will turn the area I want to target into a sea of flames that continues to spread for seven days and seven nights.

It cannot be extinguished or moved unless I will it.

This is the most destructive Authority because I can cast it more than once. Each time, it creates the same massive fireball in the sky. With the energy I have in my body, I can cast this at least five times, and each time it can burn a big city like Osaka on impact.

Yeah. As you can see, all of them are powerful. Each of them can change the tide of battle or even finish the battle before it even starts. Sadly, all of the Authorities are useless for the upcoming battle. Why? Well, all of them summon something.

My Divine Wolf form is still good, but the others are unusable. Each of them summons something. Take Sturm und Drang, for example. When I fully activate the Authority, I will summon the Chinese Weather Trio into the world.

They will follow my direction or even fight according to their will. They are not full Gods, but rather autonomous entities that act as if they are the Heretic Gods Voban slayed in the past.

Summoning undead, books, a black dragon, and fire—the last part might be considered fair play, but it is too destructive for me to use in the spar. So, I need to return to my original plan and keep honing my close-combat skills.

I only need to follow a very famous philosopher and his words: I unga, and therefore I bungga.

What a great philosopher to come up with such simple but deep words.
