Zixin headed deeper into the arena complex, following the signs toward the private training section.
The atmosphere changed almost immediately.
The public area had been noisy, crowded with spectators and full of people openly discussing every attack they saw. Here, most people kept to themselves. Survivors entered and left through different corridors carrying weapons, wiping sweat from their faces or checking glowing status screens as they walked.
There were far more people than Zixin expected.
And humans definitely weren't the majority.
A tall woman walked past him with pale blue skin and two thin horns sweeping backward from her temples. Behind her came a heavily built man whose arms appeared to be covered in natural black scales rather than armor. Someone else had a long feathered tail tucked awkwardly beneath a cloak.
Zixin kept his eyes forward.
Yesterday, he might have stared.
