Chapter 892 - 891-Upgrades

Renjiro lowered the mirror slowly, his attention shifting from his eyes to his body. He flexed his fingers, watching the muscles respond with a precision that had never been there before. He rotated his shoulder, feeling the joint move with a fluidity that seemed almost mechanical in its perfection. He took several deep breaths, his lungs expanding with an ease that made him realise how laboured his breathing had become over the years. Every movement felt perfectly coordinated, as if invisible weights he had never realised he carried had been removed from his frame.

Kushina watched him carefully, her expression shifting from curiosity to concern.

"What is it?" she asked, her voice quiet, almost hesitant.

"I don't know," Renjiro replied, his voice carrying the weight of discovery. "Something is different. Everything is different."

He paused, his gaze moving across the room, tracking the shattered glass, the broken furniture, the cracked seals with a clarity that had been impossible before. He could see the individual grains of dust suspended in the air, the faint glow of residual chakra lingering on the surfaces, the microscopic cracks in the walls that had been invisible to his previous eyes. Everything was sharper, clearer, more vivid.

"Describe it," Kushina said, her voice carrying the weight of her professional curiosity. "Tell me exactly what you're feeling."

Renjiro began investigating himself scientifically; he did not simply know, he observed, tested, then reached conclusions. He started with simple reaction tests; he tossed a scalpel into the air, watching it spin, and caught it effortlessly. The movement was instinctive, automatic, requiring no conscious thought. He watched dust drifting through the air, tracking the microscopic particles with a precision that would have been impossible before. He shifted his focus to a fly that had somehow survived the chaos, following its erratic movements with perfect clarity.

The results were immediate and startling; his eyes no longer outran his body. Previously, the sequence had been: see, brain processes, body reacts. Now, see and move happened simultaneously; the delay had disappeared completely. His nervous system had evolved alongside his eyes, creating a seamless integration between perception and action.

"My nervous system has evolved alongside the eyes," he said, his voice carrying the weight of his realisation.

"There is no lag anymore. My body responds as fast as my vision processes."

He demonstrated by catching the scalpel again, this time without looking, his hand moving to intercept it based solely on the sound of its movement through the air. The motion was fluid, natural, requiring no conscious effort.

Kushina's expression shifted from curiosity to understanding; she recognised how terrifying that was. A shinobi whose reflexes matched their perception was almost impossible to counter. The delay between seeing an attack and responding to it had always been the limiting factor in combat, the split second that could mean the difference between life and death. Renjiro had eliminated that delay entirely.

"Your body has become an extension of your eyes," she said quietly.

He continued his investigation, this time focusing on his chakra. He formed a small amount in his palm, immediately noticing that something was wrong; or rather, different. Same quantity, far greater density. The chakra felt heavier, more substantial, as if it had been compressed into a smaller space. He experimented further; a small amount of chakra produced massive pressure, compressed and refined in ways that should have been impossible.

"My pathways have expanded," he said, his voice analytical. "My coils have hardened. My chakra has become compressed."

He extended his hand, forming a simple Rasengan in his palm. The sphere was smaller than usual, but its rotation was faster, its density greater, its power more concentrated. He could feel the difference in his chakra, the way it moved through his network with an efficiency that had never been there before.

Kushina extended her own chakra sensing, probing his network with the precision of a master seal master. Her expression shifted from curiosity to recognition; she could feel the changes in his chakra, the way it had been transformed by the ritual.

"It feels heavy," she said, her voice carrying the weight of her observation. "Like liquid metal instead of water. The same volume, but much more substance."

She paused, her hand hovering over his palm, feeling the pressure of the compressed chakra.

"Your reserves didn't just increase," she continued. "Their quality increased. Every unit of chakra is more potent, more efficient, more effective."

Renjiro nodded slowly, his mind already racing through the implications. The braided Yin-Yang system naturally compressed chakra every cycle; instead of merely circulating, it continuously refined itself.

"The braided Yin-Yang system naturally compresses chakra every cycle," he theorised. "Instead of merely circulating, it continuously refines itself. My reserves didn't just increase; their quality increased."

He paused, his expression carrying the weight of his understanding.

"I have more chakra than before, but more importantly, I have better chakra. Every unit is more potent, more efficient, more effective."

He turned his attention to his ocular chakra. He noticed something unusual; the flow never stopped. The eyes constantly circulated chakra toward the brain, creating a continuous, self-correcting current that left no openings, no interruptions, no places where foreign chakra could interfere. The circulation was constant, unbroken, a river of energy that flowed without pause.

"I don't think genjutsu can reach me anymore," he said quietly, his voice carrying the weight of his conclusion.

Kushina immediately understood why; she explained from a seal master's perspective, her voice carrying the weight of her expertise.

"Normal genjutsu works by introducing foreign chakra to interrupt the target's flow and overwrite their perception," she said. "But if you now have a constant, self-correcting circulation. Any foreign chakra would immediately be rejected, like antibodies attacking an infection."

She paused, her expression carrying the weight of her understanding.

"It's a beautiful biological explanation. Your body has become absolutely immune to illusions."

Both became silent for a long moment; they had spent years studying chakra, experimenting with its properties, pushing its boundaries. Yet neither had imagined something like this. The transformation was not simply ocular; it was systemic, rewriting his entire biology in ways that defied conventional understanding. The changes were not limited to his eyes; they had permeated every aspect of his being.

Renjiro suddenly stopped, his attention returning to Mirror of the Branded. Not the genjutsu part, but the mark. Something finally clicked; the pieces that had been scattered across months of research suddenly fell into place. He thought about the nature of the mark, its properties, its behaviour, and the realisation struck him like a physical blow.

His internal thoughts raced; invisible, permanent, no maintenance, impossible to dispel, no chakra drain. The mark behaved like a seal, not like a technique. It was stable, self-sustaining, and required no conscious effort to maintain. He realised that Mirror of the Branded only used the eye to create the mark; the mark itself was a seal. Not metaphorically, but literally.

"My EMS biologically performs the sealing formula," he said slowly, his voice carrying the weight of his realisation. "Instead of drawing it, instead of writing it, instead of weaving it manually, my eye constructs the seal instantly inside another person's chakra."

He paused, letting the implications settle.

"It's not an ocular technique. It's biological sealing."

Kushina's reaction was immediate and sharp; the realisation hit her harder than the Mangekyō abilities had. She understood immediately what this meant; no brush, no ink, no preparation, no formula. Just look, touch, seal. This was something no Uzumaki had ever achieved, not even the greatest masters.

"That's impossible," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "Living seals have always required conscious effort. You can't just… look at someone and seal them."

"I just did," Renjiro replied, his voice calm, certain. "The mark is already there. It's already working. And I didn't have to do anything except see."

He paused, his expression carrying the weight of his understanding.

"The eye constructs the seal automatically," he continued. "The pattern, the geometry, the energy flow—all of it happens without conscious thought. My body knows how to seal instinctively."

Kushina stared at him, her expression caught between awe and horror.

"You've achieved what generations of Uzumaki couldn't," she said slowly. "You've turned sealing into an instinct."

Renjiro quietly pieced everything together; the God-Binding Sigil, the braided chakra, the biological seal, Mirror of the Branded. The connections formed naturally, each one building on the last, each one leading to the same conclusion. He thought about the nature of the EMS, the way it had integrated with his Uzumaki heritage, the way it had transformed his body into something new.

"I didn't just inherit Uzumaki sealing," he said, his voice carrying the weight of his understanding. "My body became the seal."
