So, thinking about this, Madam Gao said to Gao Wei, "Ah Wei, you're not young anymore. Can you be more sensible and think about your father? Do you think you're still a teenager wanting to leave home at the slightest provocation?"
Gao Wei was surprised that she didn't side with him this time. He was stunned for a moment, then became very annoyed.
If even she didn't stand by him, what was all that talk about spoiling him and loving him for his own good? It was probably all just to coax him.
"I'm not young anymore, but aren't you still treating me like a child? Fine, fine, you all are insisting I get a divorce?"
"You must divorce," Gao Ming said sternly. "Gao Wei, I'm telling you, if you stay with Nian Mutong, you won't have a good future. This woman will ruin you."
"It's just a woman, isn't it? In your eyes, am I that useless? Can a woman ruin me?"
"You don't even see what she's done this time! Who knows what she'll do in the future!"
