Eden pursed her lips, "Come on, a five-inch heel isn't really a high heel, is it? Besides, you're blaming me for running. If you hadn't run, I wouldn't have twisted my ankle chasing after you."
"You didn't have to chase me," Lu Feng said calmly.
Eden was taken aback and then asked, "If I didn't chase you, would you have come back on your own?"
Lu Feng never intended to leave; he just wanted to take a walk to calm down. He glanced at her and saw her genuine fear of him leaving. His expression softened, "If I still love you, I'll come back."
Eden stared at him blankly. They've always avoided talking about love because they both know that once the word is spoken, their relationship will no longer be a fleeting affair but a true romantic bond.
It's not that she's afraid of responsibility or of making promises to him; it's just that the word is too heavy for her.
