Great-aunt Zheng is about to enter the operating room. The Zheng family arrived at the ward early in the morning, counting heads, only Zheng Yuanjie was missing. Zheng Yuanjie had gone on a business trip due to a batch of goods and couldn't get a ticket to return last night.
Uncle Zheng blamed Aunt Zheng: "Wasn't she here with you yesterday keeping Mom company?"
Everyone knew it was Aunt Zheng who secretly gave the go-ahead for Zheng Yuanjie to leave. Resentment boiled quietly in their hearts, though some watched the drama unfold without rushing to speak.
Aunt Zheng said: "Yuanjie has a job and has to work. Isn't Yuanming returning to work just the same? Why can't Yuanjie leave?"
Perhaps everyone expected Aunt Zheng to say this. When blaming her for the remark, nearly everyone kept silent except for Uncle Zheng.
