Mia sits alone in the bustling canteen, her posture erect and her expression unreadable. Her piercing gaze sweeps the room, causing a ripple of unease among her teammates who hastily avert their eyes. With her sleek, ebony hair pulled back into a tight bun, not a strand out of place, she exudes an aura of authority and command. Yet, beneath her stoic facade, there's a flicker of confusion as she contemplates the mysterious man who caught her attention. Despite her reputation for strictness, there's a vulnerability in her uncertainty, a glimpse of the woman behind the formidable facade.

Alicia's eyes light up with recognition as she spots Mia after two years, a wave of relief washing over her.

She approaches Mia in the canteen with a warm smile, breaking the silence with a casual remark,

"Hey there, looks like you're flying solo today. What's your name?" Mia's expression softens at the familiar face, her guard momentarily lowered.

she replies, "I'm Mia. Nice to see a friendly face around here."

Mia's brow furrows slightly in confusion as she studies Alicia, trying to place her face. Despite her efforts, the memory remains elusive, shrouded in the fog of time. With a polite smile, Mia responds, "Sorry, I don't think we've met before. I'm Mia."

Alicia's smile falters momentarily, but she quickly recovers, realizing that Mia doesn't remember her. "No worries,"

Alicia replies casually, "I'm Alicia. Mind if I join you for lunch?"

Mia nods, grateful for the company, though a nagging curiosity lingers about the woman before her.

As they delve into conversation, the initial awkwardness dissipates, replaced by the easy rhythm of two strangers getting acquainted. Alicia shares snippets of her life, sprinkled with anecdotes and laughter, while Mia listens attentively, her curiosity piqued by Alicia's infectious energy. Despite the initial confusion, Mia finds herself drawn to Alicia's warmth and genuine nature, grateful for the unexpected company in the otherwise solitary lunch hour. With each passing moment, the canteen buzzes with the sound of their conversation, a newfound connection blossoming between two unlikely acquaintances.

Mia's gaze flickers with curiosity as she listens to Alicia's recounting of her role as a director.

"So, what exactly do you direct?" Mia inquires, her interest piqued.

Alicia's smile widens as she leans in slightly, eager to share her experiences. "I oversee the marketing department," she replies. "It's a whirlwind most days, but I love the creative challenges it brings."

Mia nods, impressed. "That sounds like a demanding but fulfilling role," she acknowledges.

Their conversation flows effortlessly, meandering from work-related topics to personal anecdotes. Amidst the chatter, Mia finds herself circling back to the enigmatic encounter in the elevator.

"You know, speaking of work," Mia begins tentatively, "I had a rather strange encounter earlier today in the elevator. Have you ever heard of someone named...?" She proceeds to describe the man's distinctive features in detail, hoping to jog Alicia's memory.

Alicia's brow furrows slightly as she listens intently, her mind working to place the description. "Hmm, that does sound familiar," she muses . She thought this Could be my brother. I'll have to ask him if he was in the building today.

Their conversation continues, weaving seamlessly between shared memories, work anecdotes, and idle chatter. Despite the unresolved mystery lingering in the air, Mia finds herself enjoying Alicia's company, grateful for the unexpected connection forged in the bustling canteen.
