One step after another... Damn it! I'm being chased by the Runners, not just runners, they are classified bandits who kidnap humans from settlements and put a Biological Nerve Extension Chord on their brains for complete control over their body and sold them to slavery.
Runners are known to be the fastest and the most coward unclassified specifications of the Broken Dwellers. They are the kind of people who often are paid to work as a robber, a saver, a killer, etc. A freelancing work where they can be the Hero and the Villain depending on what branch they do belong to.
A runner can do many branches at once depending on their own capability, but those kinds of people who do much work are the hardest ones to trust.
The ones that are chasing me are wearing white torn robes and masks. The gear of a runner which is the Speed Up Footwear surely is visible, but why the hell they are completely covered from head to toes!? A Vitality thin black armor covers their upper body, a gear that is as light as a shirt. How do I know? I've had those before but got completely busted because of many reasons. And their lower body is the same, wearing long durability pants and the runner footwear. They're like ninjas to be honest. But worse ones.
How unfortunate to be chased by the fastest people.

I'm currently equipped with a runners footwear I found at a broken settlement, with a few damage I patched it and use it as part of my gear. Having the same thing as them makes me no different to them.
But I'm a pilgrim, not a paid wrongdoer. I don't know why they are chasing me, but I might have an idea.
Anyways as I said earlier, I'm a pilgrim. But my real name is Zajin Sphere. Yeah, a weird last name without any crazy origin. Because of this last name of mine, I always got into many troubles, that's why I changed it as Zajin David.
I often called myself David the king. Where did I get that? From one of my favorite books. Not telling you cause I'm gatekeeping it (≧▽≦)! (For now...)
Now let's go back to my unfortunate situation.
Left... Right... Jumping from multiple trees and debris to lose them, but this really is hard. Even having the same equipment, the lack of experience is what gives me my disadvantage.

The wind pressure is kinda annoying to be honest!! Although it's bearable because I've had some beat-up equipment ready for that.
Luckily up ahead of my path there was a tall building, I ran inside and dropped a smoke bomb at the ground floor and ran up as high as I could.
As they all stopped below, I looked at them through a hole up above the 7th floor. Immediately counted how many of them are there.
1... 4... 8... 14...?
14 Runners? What in the world did I do to be chased by this many!?
But after a few moments of thinking, someone appeared behind. I immediately kicked his left foot to destroy his balance and grabbed his right arm and tossed him below through the hole.
The Runner pulled a gun and aimed at me but as he fired, I immediately dodged.
"I've got no choice! Anytime they'll be here."
"25% Unleased Speed Power."
I pulled a bomb and a metal sheet shaped like an oval gem.
"Vitality Armor, 15% Unleashed Combat Durability."
The metal sheet covered my torso extending all throughout my body.
Then I set up the bomb.
"Clack" as I twisted it. Then I said...
"Atomic Relic, Detonation Time: 00:30"

Then the countdown begins.

A bomb that could put down an entire building. Depending on its variant, it could take down a town, a city, and even a country. Mine was the weakest that could take down a building in a single strike.
But even if that's the smallest one I have. That's the most valuable thing left in my supplies damn it!

Then I ran to the top of the building, at the 16th Floor.

They followed immediately!
"Damn it! Another waste of my precious emergency tool again!"
I pulled a Gatling Capsule from my Backpack. Right now, there are 5 runners that are so close to me, a second or two they'll catch up.

"Ding!" The sound came after I clicked the upper lock to activate the Capsule.
"0.5 Kilometer, Area of Sphere."
"Gatling Capsule: Engage."
As soon as I said that, I throwed the capsule into the air, and dashed out from the top of the building with a great speed cutting through the wind.
But I know that wasn't enough so I pulled a handgun dead beat cannon that I'll throw soon because it's not that usable since it's close to breaking.
"30% Unleased Burst Power"
"100% Energy Suppression.

My voice echoed as I smiled and said...
"Oi runners, do you think you can catch a pilgrim that easy? How crazy, for morally less people like you to attempt. To attempt to stop someone who had a great resolve."

"You have to bring an army."
My canon charged up.
As they try to defend themselves from the bullets from my Gatling.
I clicked the remote to detonate my gatling, completely immobilizing them at that place. Then I pulled the trigger and said...
"Energy Suppression: Release."

A massive release of energy puts a hole into the old building. The recoil pushed me the other way so hard and the Handgun cannon exploded in the process.

After the burst energy from the cannon, that carved a hole in that building; the bomb I set immediately explodes.
Now I'm drifting away... I don't know where I'm going again. What a direction less journey for a pilgrim.
"HAHA...hahaha..."
I laughed it off like a child.
