Seraiya shifted into her wolf form and took off running, following the little scent she had of Damien and Maddie's Scents.
She ran faster and faster when finally she came upon a lonely cabin in the snow covered forest.
Snow flurries began to fall from the sky one by one as she stared at the cabin. Was this where she was? Did she truly find Maddie? Damiens scent had vanished. He must have been gone a while she thought.
She shifted back into her human form and closed her eyes trying to focus on listening.
She couldn't hear anything in the cabin.
She slowly opened her eyes and began to walk towards the cabin. Slowly, cautiously. She shouldn't have come here alone. She realized that now. But it was to late, and she was to far for her mind link to work.
Seraiya pulled out her phone. She had one bar. She quickly pulled up her chat with Zack and sent him her location. After a moment it finally sent.
Good. she thought praying to Selene that by some miracle back up would arrive quickly.
She put her phone back in her pocket and continued her walk to the cabin.
When she finally arrived at the door her hand hovered over the door knob for a moment before she took a deep breath and twisted it, opening the door and walking inside.
"Seraiya..." Maddie said breathlessly as Seraiya saw her and ran to her before kneeling. "Are you ok?" Seraiya asked painfully as she searched Maddie who was still handcuffed to the radiator for any injuries. "I think so" Maddie answered. "He didn't do anything to you did he?" Seraiya asked. "He took my blood and drank it but that's about it" Maddie said.
"He drank your blood?" Seraiya questioned. "Did he become the tribrid?" She asked. "No but it did give him more power, it almost drove him completely insane" she said. "He even froze your mother" she added.
"Is there anyone else here? Anyone we should be worried about?" Seraiya asked. "He's working with a woman with red hair her name was similar to yours I think" she answered. "Serena?" She questioned. Maddie nodded.
"Ok" seraiya said looking around "we have to get you out of here before they come back" she added as she looked Maddie in the eyes. Seraiya took a look at the handcuffs binding Maddie. "Anti magic cuffs" she said allowed.
Seraiya concentrated on the cuffs. She knew she could break them, destroy them... She had before. She thought of that day the anger she felt. The fear. But this time was different. This time, she could control her power.
The cuffs that Maddie wore began to melt. Dripping hot molten metal into the cabin floor. But it didn't burn Maddie. And she could only watch in awe as the cuffs melted off of her wrists.
"Alright time to go" Seraiya said helping Maddie to stand. They quickly ran to the door. "Shit" Seraiya said as the once simple snow had gone from flurries to what seemed like a blizzard in mere moments.
"Can't you use a teleportation spell like they did?" Maddie asked. "No, using my energy to take your cuffs off was one thing but using a spell that powerful would definitely alert them that I'm here and we don't want that" she answered. "Shift into your fox form it will keep you warmer than in this form" Seraiya told her before shifting into her wolf form.
Maddie nodded and shifted into her fox form. Seraiya used her large about to throw Maddie into the snow telling her to run. Seraiya stayed by her side making sure to maintain speed.
That was when she felt it. Serena and Damien were back. "She's gone!" She heard Damien yell. Seraiya picked Maddie up by her scruff and picked up speed.
Serena watched as Damien pulled out another vile of Maddie's blood. "Is that a smart idea?" Serena asked crossing her arms. "I need to get Maddie back if I want to become the tribrid and the only way to do that is to become stronger than my sister" he said before taking a swig.
His eyes glowed red as he shifted into his wolf form and took off running into the woods following Seraiyas tracks and scent. He was faster now. He would catch them in no time.
Seraiya could sense him getting closer by the second and took the chance to throw Maddie as far as she could to her right "stay hidden" seraiya mind linked, before turning around and shifting into her human form.
The snow began to cover her as Damien finally caught up to her, and came to a stop. It was quite the sight. A girl standing up to a large blonde wolf. Humans would be amazed if they didn't know what was happening.
Damien shifted into his human form.
"This reminds me of when you were under Alviras control" he finally spoke. "Who's control are you under?" She asked.
"No one's" he answered simply. "Why don't you understand that I'm doing this for you?" He asked. "Why don't you understand I am trying to save you!"
"I am The Defier Of Gods!" Seraiya said loudly. "I do not need saving" she told him. "And I never asked for it" she added.
"You expect me to believe you want a life ruined by the gods?" He asked. "Wasn't it you that said you wanted a normal life?"
Seraiya stood silent. "Wheres Maddie?" He asked. "I won't let you take her again" she told him. "If you want her in order to become the tribrid you have to go through me" she said.
"Fine than" he said. "You really leave me no choice anymore Seraiya" he said "you and I both no I can't kill you" he added. "But we both know she's here" he continued. "So I will burn everything to the ground untill I find her"
Suddenly a lightning bolt came from the sky and blew up a tree to their left. "Stop!" Maddie said popping up.
Damien threw his arm up towards her energy building in his hands. Seraiya ran to try to get in the way. "No" she said as the energy left his hand and shot towards Maddie.
Maddie could only watch like a deer in headlights as Seraiya jumped in front of her and was hit by the energy.
Damiens eyes went wide as Seraiya was thrown back by the blast and thrown into a tree before hitting the ground.
Maddie ran to Seraiya's side.
"Seraiya! Seraiya wake up!" She said as Serena magically appeared. "Your a witch right, heal her!" Maddie pleaded with Serena as Serena knelt down and looked at her. "I'm sorry, I can't heal the dead" she said as she looked up at Damien.
