In the office of Chen Company, Aidan leaned back in his chair, one leg resting over the other, a faint grin playing on his lips. His eyes narrowed slightly as they fixed on Lin Yun.
Xiaowei and Lingwei stood behind him, hands clasped behind their backs, their faces calm, giving nothing away.
Across the table, Lin Yun's grip tightened around the pen. Assistant Kay had already placed the contract before him, the signature line waiting, clean and untouched.
"Three hundred years." Lin Yun spoke, chuckling, his eyes hollow. "This family survived the fall and rise of powers, revolutions, and reformations."
"I am incompetent. Losing this legacy to an outsider like you." His voice low and deep, ink flowed; his fingers trembled as he signed.
Leaving the room, he turned, his eyes crimson. "You will regret this, Aidan Chen!"
Aidan's smile widened. "I wish."
"Mister Mazin is calling." Xiaowei checked the vibrating phone in his pocket, handing it to Aidan.
