Jiao Letong was driven out of the inn by Chow Yun. He stood dejectedly at the back door of the inn, pondering whether he should go back and try to persuade the beautiful lady again, when he saw a dozen or so soldiers in armor running from the other end of the alley.
Jiao Letong started in fright, quickly hiding behind a pile of garbage a short distance from the back door of the inn.
Seeing that they only guarded the back door without rushing in, Jiao Letong breathed a slight sigh of relief, then quietly slipped out of the alley and ran toward his own home.
Jiao Letong ran straight back to his yard, and after closing the door, he bent over the well to draw a bucket of water, then buried his head in the bucket to take big gulps of water.
His mother, Lady Gao, heard the commotion and stepped out from his sister's room. She was startled to see her son drinking water like that and hurried over to pull him up: "Why are you drinking water like this, child?"
