Haru accepted the offer without hesitation. Five billion Magic Crystals converted to 500,000 Divine Crystals through the GM. This amount was enough to buy a top-level High God Tier Artifact from the Gods of Faith where artifacts were plentiful, and Divine Crystals were the scarce resource.
Selene had offered a fair price, and beyond the price, she'd brought Amelie's soul, which had its own value to the alliance. The artifact was also useless to him as it required Selene's specific law source to unseal, and he had no interest in High God Tier Artifacts any more regardless. Only Supreme God Tier Artifacts and above warranted his attention now.
He handed it over and the moment [Selene's Crescent] settled into her hands, it burst into hazy moonlight. This was the artifact recognizing its master after a hundred thousand years of separation. The spirit inside it responded immediately to the divine source it had been made for.
Selene broke the seal herself, drew the blade's law into her body, and then something shifted. The faint incompleteness that Haru had noticed in her Divine Aura, the sense of a source law with a gap in it, closed. Her aura became whole in a way it hadn't been before.
He said, "Congratulations. Your 'Law' is complete now. The Supreme God Tier should be pretty close for you now."
She looked at him with an expression he recognized: someone who had just received more than they'd come for and was recalculating the scale of their gratitude.
What she didn't know was that he could exchange Magic Crystals for Divine Crystals at a favorable rate. She'd believed she was offering something of modest value to a God who shouldn't want mortal-tier resources. He'd accepted it anyway, which she was attributing to generosity rather than the actual reason. He didn't correct her.
She said her thanks, said goodbye, and left quickly, already thinking about trying to ascend. She was half a foot into the Supreme God Tier now and wanted to ascend before the Divine War began.
He converted the five billion Magic Crystals and added them to his reserves. With what remained from earlier and the transaction from the Dark Empire, his Divine Crystal count stood at just over 26 million. Below the 200 million peak, but still more than what most Ancient Gods of Faith like Malakar likely held. The upcoming battle against the Evil Gods would definitely bring more.
…
At this time, Yvonne was still in the Void. He checked through the power of faith and got a summary. She had opened five masterless Divine Kingdoms so far. The owners having been Lower True Gods, the yields were modest—ordinary Divine Artifacts and small quantities of Divine Crystals.
More usefully, she'd found over ten billion living creatures trapped inside those Divine Kingdoms, the original believers, reproducing across generations inside their Gods' fallen realms. They were capped at the peak of the Demigod Tier by the weak laws of the Lower True Gods' Divine kingdoms, unable to advance further or leave.
He gave her permission to move them all to 'Heaven', his own Divine Kingdom. Getting ten billion new souls in a single afternoon's work was really great work. Their belief would change and soon, they would become his believers, adding to the power of Faith flowing into his Godhead.
He told her to keep working together with Estelle, who was still scanning for masterless Divine Kingdoms. He'd rather have Yvonne there than here, 'guarding' him, which was practically just a protocol rather than an actually needed thing now that he was a Supreme God.
Then, he thought about Lily, whom he was going to meet when Selene had arrived and decided the Grey Dwarf City was where he was going next.
…
Location: The Castle of Fate, Grey Dwarf City.
After meeting Svetlana, Lily had named her personal castle in the Grey Dwarf City as the 'Castle of Fate'.
The main hall of this castle now held a long table covered in food, and Svetlana sitting beside it, her silver eyes already turned toward the space he stepped out of before he'd fully arrived.
She'd known he was coming and she'd prepared dinner. He sat down next to her without ceremony and started eating, because he hadn't eaten, and the food was there, moreover it was good. She watched him with an expression he couldn't fully read through the veil. Something between amusement and the particular satisfaction of having predicted correctly.
