"…Fine," Rex said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Christian shook his head slightly. "You're still troublesome."
"I've always been," I shot back.
A brief silence settled again, but this one was… lighter.
Not fixed but not broken either.
"What's your player name then?" Christian asked after a moment. "So we can invite you to our waiting room in the future."
"UnluckyExtra," I muttered.
They froze.
Again.
Honestly, they were doing that a lot today.
Slowly, very slowly, they turned to look at me, eyes wide like I had just confessed to being a secret final boss.
"You're… UnluckyExtra?" Rex said, voice somewhere between disbelief and mild betrayal. "The player who earned the highest amount at the end of the third stage?"
"That's me," I said, shrugging like it was nothing.
Because it was really nothing.
"I can't believe you're instantly famous," Christian muttered, still staring at me. "Even in a completely different world…"
