"Nazha, mind your image," her sister Jianati said, switching to Uyghur.
"Does it matter? There are no outsiders here," Nazha replied in their hometown dialect.
The two started a back-and-forth bickering.
Her sister was the first to realize something was off and apologized to Sun Dasheng: "I got carried away arguing with Nazha and almost forgot we have a guest here, I'm really sorry."
Hearing her sister's words, Nazha also realized her earlier behavior was inappropriate—wasn't she neglecting him?
So she quickly whispered an apology in his embrace.
Sun Dasheng patted her head, then looked at her sister and said, "It's okay, it's quite refreshing to hear you speak Uyghur. I've never heard anyone around me speak it before."
And thus, he dismissed it with a smile.
He then suggested going out for dinner together.
Jianati looked outside, noticing it was already dark, "I didn't realize it was already dark, how careless of me to forget about dinner."
