"So, you're telling us that they cannot meet us now?" Lucifer's voice carried a calm authority as he looked down at Azazel, who stood trembling in front of him.
"Yes." Azazel's entire body shook, yet he held his gaze on the Lord of Sin, refusing to back down despite the fear clawing at him.
Azazel had no choice but to let them into the castle. If Katarina's defensive barriers had been triggered by the presence of the devil lords, it would have escalated into a full-blown conflict. The barrier surrounding her current location, however, was far stronger than anything the castle could offer. Even if the lords attempted to break through, it wouldn't be easy.
"And when will they be free?" another devil lord demanded.
Azazel jumped at the sound but quickly regained his composure. "I-I don't know," he admitted.
"So, two humans have the nerve to keep all seven of us waiting?" The question came with a hint of sharp amusement, and Azazel braced himself, expecting the worst.
