But appearances had never meant much on this battlefield.
Katarina calmly ascended into the sky as countless layers of barriers and defensive spells bloomed around her. Shield after shield overlapped until they formed an impregnable fortress, surrounding her from every direction. Each layer shimmered with condensed mana, twisting the surrounding air with overwhelming defensive power.
High above the battlefield, seven crimson streaks tore across the heavens as they pursued a single emerald comet.
Sai glanced over his shoulder at the Devil Lords chasing him.
A grin slowly spread across his face.
Instead of continuing his escape, he abruptly turned around to face them head-on. Taking a deep breath, he poured mana into his lungs until they felt as though they would burst.
