Chapter 497 - 496: Time Has Changed

"He died so easily." Yun Wuying glared at the white robe on the ground before looking away. She felt it was a complete waste to let that bastard die without suffering more. If it had been up to her, she would have given him far more 'attentive' treatment, dragging him through hell until he begged for a sweet death, only to deny it and keep him alive for millions of years.

"..." Pan Xiaodie glanced at her in silence. She did not know why this unfairly beautiful woman harbored so much hatred toward him, but she did not ask. She gave the spot where Mo Su had been one last look. Contrary to what she once believed, she did not feel much sorrow over his death. It was closer to pity.

Both of them had spent most of their lives in a sad and pathetic way. She had managed to find a ray of hope and joy at the end of the tunnel, while he died a miserable death.

He would also be remembered as the villain who nearly destroyed the entire universe for his selfish motives, cursed by future generations for eternity.

Pan Xiaodie stepped behind Yun Wuji and wrapped her arms around him, leaning against his back as she quietly inhaled his scent. It was intoxicating. His figure was the same as in the dream. There was no difference between the dream and reality.

"He is a pitiful person, though he deserved everything that happened to him," Yun Wuji said. With a single thought, the bloodstained white robe turned into fine dust and scattered in the wind.

He had read Mo Su's memories and understood his plans. It was madness, to say the least. The creation of the Cradle was first meant to keep Pan Xiaodie from growing old. Second, Mo Su used the entire Abyss as an experimental ground to test whether he could influence this world's laws.

The Law of Time was one of the strictest and most difficult laws to alter. When the Ancestral Goddess created the world, she ensured that even the slightest attempt to tamper with it would be met with punishment. Slowing time or accelerating it was possible and not overly difficult. Completely stopping time or rewinding it was absolutely impossible.

Even in the novel, when the Ancestral Goddess attempted to rewind time to the moment before Yun Che died and froze the Profound Sky Continent, she paid a terrible price that consumed much of the strength she had accumulated.

Mo Su had defied the laws and forcibly created a place where time stood completely still. If his only goal had been to keep Pan Xiaodie safe, he would not have needed to stop time entirely. Slowing it to an almost negligible rate would have been enough.

In truth, his original intention was to experiment on the entire Abyss. His real goal was to return to the Primal Chaos and perform a true time rewind. He wanted to go back to the moment before everything fell apart.

His plan was doomed from the start. The laws of the Primal Chaos were far more fragile. If he had truly attempted something like that, the entire Primal Chaos would have collapsed into ruin.

But of course, after falling into the Abyss, Mo Su had not been right in the head to begin with. Even if he knew the chance of failure was 99,99%, he would still push forward for that remaining 0,01%.

Three flashes of light burst from Yun Wuji, and with them appeared three ravishing figures, Li Suo, Hei Xiaolian, and Shen Xi.

"So this is that sleeping beauty." Hei Xiaolian habitually crossed her arms, her towering breasts pressing together as she sized up Pan Xiaodie with a teasing gaze. "Not bad, not bad. You picked up another one."

"..." Pan Xiaodie felt uncomfortable under her scrutiny but chose to ignore it. Her attention shifted to the woman in the pure white tight dress. "You are Senior Li Suo!"

Even as the daughter of a Devil Emperor, she could not help but feel respect toward the Creation Goddess of Life. Li Suo had been admired by countless beings during the Primordial Era, even among parts of the Devil Race, despite their fear of Light Profound Energy.

"Indeed, it is me," Li Suo replied with a faint smile. Most of her memories from her previous life had returned. However, she was no longer the same Li Suo from before the Primordial Era. Even after regaining her memories, she viewed them from a distant perspective, as if watching someone else's life.

To her, the old Li Suo was long dead. The one standing here was a new Li Suo.

"This is the Evil Infant, Hei Xiaolian. She is my wife. She may act like an annoying cunt, but she is actually easy to get along with. I think you two will get along well." Yun Wuji held Pan Xiaodie's hands, which were wrapped around his waist, and introduced the others. "This is Shen Xi. She is the daughter of the Primordial Azure Dragon God and Li Suo's disciple. She is also my wife."

"You already know her, and you may have guessed it. Li Suo is also my wife." He finally gestured toward Yun Wuying. "This is Yun Wuying. She created the Abyss as it exists now and was the one who healed you after you fell into it."

"The Evil Infant, senior Li Suo, and even..." Pan Xiaodie blinked several times. She knew Yun Wuji had many wives and that he was extremely charming, but she did not expect his charm to be this absurd.

How the hell did he charm a Heavenly Spirit? And Li Suo was someone said to never be moved by love.

Mo E and Ni Xuan had spent millions of years pursuing her, and the most they achieved was being placed firmly in the friend zone.

And that woman, Yun Wuying, looked almost like a discounted Ancestral Goddess. How did he manage to make her his woman, too?

"Alright, introductions are done. Let's get to the important matters first," Hei Xiaolian suddenly declared. As she spoke, her hands were already removing her tight black dress. "You got rid of your last obstacle and even picked up another chick. It's time to celebrate. We need a party!"

"You mean an orgy," Li Suo corrected calmly.

"Party, orgy, same thing. Anyway, let's celebrate properly!" Hei Xiaolian dismissed her with a wave before leaping at Yun Wuji, tackling him to the ground along with Pan Xiaodie.

...

The aftermath of the battle between Yun Wuying and the High Priests caused irreparable damage to the Pure Land. More than 70% of it was destroyed, and the number of unfortunate deaths was even more tragic.

Unlike Yun Wuji, who had made an effort to contain the damage, Yun Wuying held deep hatred toward Mo Su and did not care in the slightest about anything connected to him.

Of course, Yun Wuji never cared about the Pure Land to begin with. Even if it had been razed completely, he would not have felt any loss. With the destruction of the Pure Land and the deaths of Mo Su and the High Priests, the rulers who once firmly controlled the entire Abyss were gone.

A few weeks later, news of Mo Su's death spread throughout the Abyss. The truth behind his actions was exposed, including the real creators of the Abyss and the fact that his experiments were slowly causing its disintegration. The entire Abyss descended into chaos.

To the inhabitants of the Abyss, Mo Su, the Abyssal Monarch, was more than a ruler. He was their faith. Many revered him with religious zeal, as if he were their true creator. This devotion extended even into the Divine Kingdoms.

The legend claimed that he had singlehandedly created the Abyss to provide living space for suffering beings, established the Pure Land, and founded the Divine Kingdoms. It was only natural for people to see him as their benevolent savior and creator.

Learning of his death and the truth behind everything sent waves of chaos and disbelief across the Abyss, especially among the weaker population. The weaker a person was, the more tightly they clung to that faith, even when they knew it offered no real salvation.

The reaction within the Divine Kingdoms was relatively less intense compared to other regions. Although they revered Mo Su, their primary loyalty was to their Divine Regents. Unfortunately, all Divine Regents except one were either dead or crippled.

What truly pushed the Abyss into greater turmoil was the domineering announcement of Yun Wuji ascending the throne as the new ruler of the Abyss. Anyone who dared to object would be met with a single slap of death.

The only place where events unfolded differently was the Eternal Light Divine Kingdom. There, almost everyone rejoiced. Their Divine Regent was Yun Wuji, and with him becoming the sole ruler of the Abyss, their position only strengthened.

They had endured tens of thousands of years of hellish darkness under Shenwu Yanye's rule, and Mo Su had never lifted a finger to intervene. It was Yun Wuji who liberated them. Their gratitude and loyalty toward him far surpassed anything they had ever felt for Mo Su.

As for the uproar and turmoil his rise caused, Yun Wuji paid little attention. He left others to stabilize the situation and prepare for his coronation. Meanwhile, he focused on his next step.

It was time for him to enter the Eternal Heaven Pearl and break through into the True God Realm.
