Chapter 384 - Saul of the Skies

Five years ago, Crystal City

Gerald and Samantha leaned against a large wooden oak tree atop a large, grassy hill. Between them sat a dusty book labeled "NAHATAN ENTITY HUNTERS, VOLUME 51." "So these were Nahata's hunters before Team Cytron's time," Gerald began, firmly brushing the page with his finger.

Samantha's eyes squinted. "If you were to meet one person in this book, who would it be?"

Gerald froze. Ever since Kevin introduced him to the entity hunting community, there was one thing he had not yet done - learn about the entity hunters of the distant past. Determined to provide an answer, his finger halted on a frenzy of bold letters reading "SAUL OF THE SKIES, NO 3 HUNTER." Gerald grinned. "Saul of the Skies looks like a formidable opponent! I'll be looking forward to battling him, if he's still alive…"

Samantha chuckled. "Don't worry, I bet you'll win against him one day!"

Present day, Gerald vs. Songnote

"The boy's eyes squint in shock, blown away by the powerful individual's presence! Saul of the Skies, former top 3 of the professional hunter charts, spectates him from above!"

Gerald scoffed, maintaining his fighting spirit. "Making me fight a battle inside a battle? That's rather impressive."

Saul's hands clapped together, forcing a large burst of wind through the forest. A strong chill rushed through Gerald's body, fighting the surprise brought by Saul's presence. "He looks rather pale - is he being controlled by Songnote?"

Two dinosaurs approached Saul from behind. His hands parted, slamming a funnel of wind into each creature. They stumbled through the forest, simultaneously crashing in the distance. "Questions rush through the boy's mind - is his strength and bravery strong enough to fight?"

A surge of power emitted from Gerald's body, rising above the lively forest. "The boy's power begins to grow, revealing his persisting courage! The scorching flames across his legs shift into a dark and ominous color!" Gerald launched into the air, racing towards Saul like a hypersonic jet. "Emberatalia!"

Volume 13, Chapter 54 - Saul of the Skies

Emberatalia's dark flames crashed into Saul's muscular arms, releasing a strong burst of wind. His left hand extends, effortlessly grabbing Gerald's leg and swinging him into a large boulder. "The impact creates a large dust cloud churning out miniature pieces of stone! The boy's flames reignite, and his arms swat through the dust!" The pattern of Gerald's breathing intensifies from Saul's immediate attack. "A rather humbling blow," he wheezed. "After all, my opponent is a professional entity hunter."

Their eyes meet again. Saul's emotionless expression influences Gerald's confusion. "Given his former rank and current status, I can't tell if he's being controlled by Songnote or just not giving effort!"

Saul's palm lifts towards his neck, releasing a slash of air crashing into the forest below. "The boy's recovery is interrupted from Saul's sudden follow up! He quickly dodges, darting his eyes back towards the impact point!" Gerald's arm trembles. "How the hell…"

A narrow line of trees - all perfectly divided in half by Saul's slash.

"Saul descends from the air, landing onto the moist dirt!" Songnote continues. "The boy's shock fades, substituted by his determination!"

Their eyes meet again, and the breeze emitted from Gerald's flame strengthens. "The old-gen hunter's power is finally displayed to the new generation…" A bright smile stretches across his face. "You think that's supposed to discourage me?"

Songnote's chuckle echoes through the sky. Her violin hums once again, enlightening the forest. With Emberatalia's power still raging strong, Gerald pushes into the sky. Saul's palms push together, exerting a strong burst of wind expanding his stance. "Technique of the Skies - Almighty Wind Spear!" Gerald's flaming leg lifts above his head. "Axe of Fire!"

"T-their attacks clash, creating a large shockwave shaking the forest! The shockwave combusts into a large explosion, blowing dust through the maze of trees surrounding the field!" From the silence rose Gerald, struggling to catch his breath. "The domain's structure is deteriorating."

He appeared back onto the open field.

"I congratulate you for finding a way out," Songnote praised. "However, your remaining energy is pitiful - if you're planning to defeat me, you'll need a lot more than raw power in your arsenal." Her violin slid back into her pocket. "My job here is done - I believe this has taught you a valuable lesson, Gerald Romanti." Gerald rushed up the tall, grassy hill. "I'm not done yet!" His leg crashed against Songnote's chest.

"You still wish to oppose the power of music? She turned towards Gerald, piercing through his flesh with her wooden bow. "Be grateful, for I have granted you mercy."

He stumbled onto the wet grass, grabbing the bloody wound. "This isn't over, Songnote! I'll come back stronger, and I'll FREE SAUL FROM YOUR CLUTCHES!" Songnote halted. "I'll be looking forward to that."
