Chapter 1 - Dragon Ball: The Last Super Saiyan Chapter 1 — The Day Gohan Should Have Died

Understood. I'll keep the same core story and sequence, but expand it to roughly the original length, with Gohan completely alone in the opening and throughout the awakening. The transmigrator's name will be Radan, not Wu Fan. I'll also keep the system and Dragon Ball elements intact rather than rewriting the plot.

Earth.

Age 784.

The darkness was heavy.

Not merely because night had fallen, but because this world itself seemed to have forgotten what light was.

The ground was covered in dirt and rubble.

Broken buildings stood like lifeless corpses across the ruined city, their shattered windows staring into the darkness.

Heavy rain poured endlessly from the sky.

Crackling~~!

Thunder rolled through the heavens.

Boom~~!

Golden lightning suddenly tore across the clouds, illuminating the ruins for a brief instant before everything was swallowed by darkness once again.

Despair.

Death.

Silence.

They had become the defining features of this world.

There was no laughter.

No peaceful streets.

No ordinary people going about their lives.

Only ruins remained.

And somewhere within those ruins...

A single man lay motionless on the ground.

Son Gohan.

His body was covered in wounds.

Blood mixed with rainwater and slowly disappeared into the dirt beneath him.

His clothes were torn apart.

His breathing was so weak that it was almost impossible to notice.

And one of his arms...

Was gone.

The battle had already ended.

The Androids had defeated him.

Once again, Gohan had stood alone against the monsters that had destroyed the future.

And once again...

He had been unable to defeat them.

There was no one coming to save him.

No Goku.

No Vegeta.

No Piccolo.

No other Z Warrior.

Everyone who had once protected Earth had already fallen.

And Trunks...

Had also died fighting the Androids.

Gohan was the last one.

The final warrior standing between the Androids and complete destruction.

But now even he had fallen.

The rain continued to strike his face.

Drop after drop.

His body didn't respond.

His eyes remained closed.

For anyone who happened to see him...

Son Gohan was dead.

The final hope of this future had finally disappeared.

Yet beneath the silence...

Something changed.

His finger moved.

Only slightly.

Almost imperceptibly.

Then stopped.

A second later, another movement.

The body that should have been dead was still holding onto the last trace of life.

Son Gohan...

Hadn't truly died.

And then—

[Ding! ! !]

A mechanical voice suddenly echoed through the darkness of his consciousness.

[Bindable host detected...]

[...System binding initiated.]

[Binding complete.]

[...Self-test in progress...]

[Ding! ! ! System operation is normal.]

[Comprehensive analysis of host beginning...]

[10%...]

[50%...]

[99%...]

[Ding! ! !]

[Host's physical body has suffered severe damage.]

[Multiple bodily functions are continuously declining.]

[Life energy is rapidly decreasing.]

[Immediate repair is recommended.]

There was no response.

The unconscious body remained motionless beneath the rain.

The system continued.

[...]

A few seconds passed.

[Ding! ! ! Host has not responded.]

[Life energy continues to decrease.]

[Estimated time until complete biological death: three minutes.]

Still nothing.

The system waited.

There was no conscious response.

The body could no longer answer.

So the system made its decision.

[Ding! ! ! Host has not responded.]

[Automatic self-rescue mode activated.]

[Beginning emergency recovery procedure.]

[Remaining energy will be consumed to repair the host's physical body.]

[Absorbing surrounding energy...]

The energy surrounding Gohan began to stir.

The rain continued to fall.

The ruined city remained silent.

But deep beneath the surface...

Something was happening.

Energy was slowly being drawn toward Gohan's body.

His damaged cells began receiving energy.

His declining life force stabilized.

His mind began to recover.

Then—

[Ding! ! !]

[Violent conflict between soul and body detected.]

The system paused.

[Analyzing...]

[Soul-body compatibility abnormal.]

[Automatic repair initiated.]

[Forcibly activating Fusion.]

[Fusion progress...]

[10%...]

The darkness inside Gohan's consciousness trembled.

[50%...]

Something appeared within the depths of his mind.

Two different soul bodies.

One belonged to Son Gohan.

The other belonged to someone who should never have existed in this world.

[99%...]

The two souls were slowly drawn toward one another.

There was no resistance.

No escape.

The mysterious force of the system forcibly connected them.

Then—

[Ding! ! !]

[Fusion complete!]

...

The mechanical voice gradually faded into the darkness.

Inside the depths of Son Gohan's consciousness, the two souls had completely fused.

They were no longer two separate existences.

They had become one.

A new soul.

A new consciousness.

And slowly...

That consciousness began to awaken.

Pain.

That was the first thing he felt.

An intense pain that seemed to penetrate directly into his bones.

His head felt as though it were being torn apart.

Every nerve in his body seemed to be screaming.

He tried to move.

Nothing happened.

He tried to open his eyes.

His eyelids felt impossibly heavy.

For nearly a full minute, he remained trapped between consciousness and unconsciousness.

Then, little by little...

The pain began to fade.

His consciousness became clearer.

His breathing became steadier.

And finally—

His eyelids trembled.

Slowly...

His eyes opened.

The world was blurry.

Everything appeared as nothing more than vague shapes beneath the rain.

Radan immediately closed his eyes again.

He needed time.

His mind was confused.

His body hurt.

His thoughts were disorganized.

He took a slow breath.

Then another.

Gradually, the strange world around him began to settle.

Radan?

Yes.

His name was Radan.

He had been an ordinary young man from the 21st century.

He had lived his life normally.

Until a car accident had taken everything away.

He should have died there.

Instead...

He had been brought into another world.

The Dragon Ball world.

But this wasn't the peaceful world he knew from the stories.

This wasn't the era of Goku's childhood.

This wasn't the era where the Z Warriors stood together.

This was the future.

A future destroyed by the Androids.

And somehow...

He had become Son Gohan.

The very Son Gohan who had been killed by Androids 17 and 18.

Radan opened his eyes again.

This time, the image before him slowly became clear.

Rain.

Ruins.

Blood.

Destruction.

He could feel cold water running down his cheeks.

For a moment, he simply stared at the sky.

[So... I really traveled to the Dragon Ball world.]

The thought felt absurd.

Then another thought appeared.

[And I became Son Gohan.]

He remained silent.

There was simply too much to process.

Then he remembered what had happened to Gohan.

The battle.

The Androids.

The wounds.

The missing arm.

Death.

Radan's expression became complicated.

[System... are you cheating me?]

He almost wanted to laugh.

Of all the people he could have become...

He had become the future Son Gohan.

A warrior who had already been pushed to the edge of death.

And he had arrived at the worst possible moment.

The world around him was proof enough.

There was no civilization left.

No army.

No rescue.

No familiar faces.

Only destruction.

Radan slowly turned his head.

There was no one beside him.

No Trunks.

No companion.

No one waiting for him.

He was completely alone.

The rain continued falling.

Radan looked down at his injured body.

Then his eyes moved toward his left side.

Nothing.

His arm was gone.

His expression twitched.

[The system really brought me here like this?]

He tried moving his remaining arm.

Pain immediately surged through his body.

"Ugh..."

A low groan escaped his throat.

The pain was intense.

Much stronger than anything he had experienced from the car accident.

Radan clenched his teeth.

If the Fusion hadn't forcibly stabilized the damaged soul and body...

He suspected this pain alone might have been enough to drive him back into unconsciousness.

He slowly sat up.

Every movement felt like his body was protesting against him.

His breathing became heavier.

But eventually...

He managed to sit upright.

Radan looked at the ruins around him.

For a few seconds, he said nothing.

Then his attention returned to the system.

[System.]

No response.

[You activated the self-rescue mode.]

Still nothing.

[So why can't you completely heal me?]

The system finally responded.

[Ding! ! !]

[The system has already used all available energy to save the host.]

[Energy consumption has reached its current limit.]

[The system is unable to continue supporting the host's treatment.]

Radan fell silent.

The answer was simple.

Cold.

Direct.

There was no hidden treasure waiting for him.

No unlimited healing.

No convenient miracle.

The system had saved his life.

That was all.

Radan glanced once more at his missing arm.

[And this?]

Silence.

He already knew the answer.

It couldn't restore it.

At least...

Not now.

Radan slowly exhaled.

Fine.

He would deal with it himself.

He had survived.

That alone was enough.

He lowered his head slightly and examined the body he had inherited.

Son Gohan.

The legendary half-Saiyan who had once possessed unimaginable potential.

But this future Gohan had been forced through years of suffering.

His father was dead.

The other Z Warriors were dead.

Trunks was dead.

The Androids had destroyed almost everything.

And now...

Even Gohan had fallen.

Radan understood something important.

The original Son Gohan was no longer truly conscious.

The Fusion had destroyed everything about the original soul, including its memories.

Yet the reason Radan's consciousness had remained dominant was simple.

Son Gohan had already died.

His soul had remained behind, but without consciousness.

It was in a deep sleep.

Otherwise, even a broken Saiyan soul would have been far too powerful for an ordinary human soul to simply replace.

The system had been the deciding factor.

Without it...

Radan wouldn't be sitting here.

He would be dead.

He slowly raised his head.

The rain struck his face again.

The ruined Earth stretched endlessly before him.

A world that had already lost its heroes.

A world where fear had become normal.

A world where the Androids had nearly erased everything.

Radan's expression gradually changed.

The confusion began disappearing.

The shock began disappearing.

What remained was calm.

He had been given a second life.

A second chance.

And this body...

Was Son Gohan.

That alone meant something.

Radan slowly clenched his remaining fist.

He could feel the power inside this body.

Even after suffering such devastating injuries...

It was still there.

His eyes narrowed.

The system had given him another ability.

An ability that allowed him to see combat power.

He focused.

A strange interface appeared within his mind.

The numbers were clear.

His current normal-state combat power...

10 million.

Radan stared at the number.

Ten million.

Even in his current condition.

That was already an absurd level of strength.

And if the Super Saiyan transformation multiplied that power...

At least 500 million.

Radan's eyes became slightly colder.

That was more than enough to make him understand something.

This future wasn't finished.

Not yet.

He slowly looked toward the ruined horizon.

The Androids were still somewhere out there.

The world was still broken.

And he was still injured.

But the person who had died here...

Wasn't the person who had awakened.

Radan had inherited Son Gohan's body.

But from this moment forward...

The future belonged to him.

He slowly stood.

His body trembled from the pain.

He nearly fell.

But he steadied himself.

The rain continued to pour.

Lightning flashed across the dark sky.

For a brief moment, the ruined Earth was illuminated.

And beneath that light stood a one-armed Saiyan.

Alone.

Surrounded by destruction.

Yet still alive.

Radan looked toward the horizon.

His eyes were calm.

There was no celebration.

No excitement.

Only one thought remained.

He had arrived in a world where everything had already gone wrong.

Now...

He would have to decide what happened next.
