Cheng Xiao skipped two days of work as she was looking after her mother, she would have loved to stay a bit longer, but her mother was against it.
"Cheng Xiao, you once gave up your dream because of my treatment, you don't have to worry about me, Xu Kai has arranged everything. There will be nurse if anything happens and he even invited a specialist from abroad to come and treat me, so you don't have to worry about and go and do what you love." Her mother said to her.
"Are you sure?" Cheng Xiao asked.
"Mm!" The mother said with a nod.
"Then I will go home and change then go to work." Cheng Xiao said.
Her mother nodded once again and Cheng Xiao leaned in and hugged her mother before she stood up to leave. Cheng Xiao went home, took a shower got dressed and went to work.
Everyone turned to look at Cheng Xiao as she walked into the office.
"Cheng Xiao are you okay?" Her colleagues asked.
"Is everything fine?" Another one asked.
"Yes, sorry to make you guys worried I had family emergency." Cheng Xiao replied.
"I am glad you fine." They said and they went back to their own.
Cheng Xiao placed her bag and told Su Li that she would be back. Cheng Xiao walked and knocked on the door of the head's office. She entered when she got permission.
"Cheng Xiao!" He said as he lifted his head.
"I wanted to apologize for skipping work without telling you." Cheng Xiao said and bowed in apology.
"It is fine, the CEO sent me a message." He replied.
"Okay, I will take my leave." Cheng Xiao said and turned to leave.
"Sorry to ask." The head said and Cheng Xiao stopped and turned back.
"Yes sir!" Cheng Xiao said.
"What it is your relationship with the CEO? I was surprised when he told me that you will not be coming to work due to personal emergency. I don't want to assume that you are one of those girls." He said.
"No sir, I guess I should come clean." Cheng Xiao said shaking her head.
"The CEO and I are married." Cheng Xiao said.
"What!" He said in shock.
"I was going to keep it a secret at first, but now I am fine with the world knowing about our marriage." Cheng Xiao said.
"I didn't skip work because he is my husband and the boss at this company but something really urgent came up and I failed to let you know." Cheng Xiao said.
"I know you are the type to skip work I was just woried with all the rumours in the company but if you say that you guys are married that is what shocked me." The head said.
"You may have been here for a little while, but you are one of us and I am happy that you came to the designing team." He said and he meant it.
"Thank you sir!" Cheng Xiao said and left the office.
