Chapter 13 - (Not) A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy (Not So) Far Far Away

(AN: If you see any errors, please report here)

"This is absolutely fucking hilarious," the eldest child of the family snickered nearly uncontrollably after laughing her head off minutes ago at the discovery they made.

What exactly did they find.

Well, they found a planet, a heavily built-up planet with numerous starships going to and fore from the world.

Landing and walking around didn't take very long for them to understand that the alien citizens all bore characteristics from another fictional piece of media that they knew about in their lives as normal humans.

The planet they found themselves on was called Byss, a world under the Galactic Republic's administrative control.

"ohhh fffuck" Kelly moaned, giving her head a rub.

This was a bit much wasn't it, they could handle a Halo and Mass Effect crossover but now Star Wars was thrown in here, what's next, elements of 40k, like Nids and Orks? (AN: yeah, absolutely not)

The only positive about this whole situation was that they could leave it alone, and it wouldn't come back to haunt them.

The problem is though, there is a chance for the humans and other ex-Covenant races, along with the Citadel, stumbling onto the existence of the Republic, and that meant they would be prey for the inevitable Empire to conquer.

Thus, this would be another problem that the family would have to deal with, whether they liked it or not.

"Right, first thing to do is to find out as much information as possible," Leo said which everyone agreed with.

"We need to see who the chancellor is," Kelly said before continuing, "That will tell us if we're pre-episode 1 or 2, perhaps even 3 as we've yet to see imperial flags flying about."

So that meant hacking into the Holonet, which didn't take too long as like the human internet, it was freely accessible, provided you had the proper equipment to connect to it.

What they found out was that they were pre-episode 2, but it wouldn't be long for it to take place.

The net showed them heaps of evidence of separatist movements popping up on many planets across the galaxy, mostly in the Outer Rim systems, which meant the clock was ticking for the Clone Wars to kick off.

They couldn't stop the civil war from taking place, and even if they could, who would believe these nobodies in their behemoth of a ship while exhibiting powers barely beyond comprehension, and from Kelly's deep understanding of this fictional world, there was too much invested in this war to not go off.

Another point is that even if they could stop it, it was only delaying the inevitable; the first galactic civil war could not be stopped, it was a certainty, the resentment of the corruption from the core elite, the atrocities committed by the corporations, the rampant piracy and slavery abound.

Without Palpatine accelerating things in the background, something similar to the Confederacy of Independent Systems would have eventually formed.

They could not stop the war, but they could prepare for what will come.

With this knowledge acquired, the family dynamic shifted into a more serious undertone.

It seemed their projects had gained new meaning now.

Kelly would focus on creating a new superpower state within the terminus system once she was finished with her takeover of Omega, all for giving them a higher chance of success in dealing with the Reapers invasion.

Charlie would be assisting her on this front, providing her power and directing assaults in areas that Kelly couldn't attend to personally.

Leo, on the other hand, would venture into the other side of the galaxy with her Star Citizen Mercenary Fleet and establish herself and lend out her services to those who could pay, which was secondary to the primary objective, which was setting up safe systems for a future Rebel Alliance to use and cultivate their fighting strength.

But that would only happen if she were somehow in a position to neutralise the Chancellor, Kelly had told her there would be certain events in the future, which she'd have a chance to do an assassination attempt, but they would be time sensitive.

As long as Palpatine died before or during the Battle of Coruscant, the future empire would be denied in its existence.

Mom and Mother, meanwhile, would be preparing further expansions to their little home system and seeing if they could expand outwards to other nearby unoccupied systems, building everything up, and once sufficient forces where available depending on the state of ether section of the galaxy they would deploy the appropriate amount of force to deal with the situation, or if not manage it to the best of their abilities.

But hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

Before long, 4 months would pass before Leo felt like she had enough forces to head out.

The planning and building of the fleet was meticulous, as it was near wearing in getting the power levels of the guns tuned to deal with deflector shields and durasteel.

Venturing out alone was a nerve-wracking experience, part of Leo didn't want her to leave the comfort and security the rest of the family provided, but she knew it needed to be done, the future of untold trillion of lives depended on her actions.

The same could be said for the others, but their opponents were giant starship robots with near-inferior capabilities aside from their numbers and indoctrination.

After saying her farewells, Leo departed for Yavin along the Hydian Way, journey would take half a month due to the distance, but thanks to the warp drives, they didn't need to go around the numerous black holes and celestial objects in the way, thanks to the extradimensional nature of warp travel.

The fleet they left with included a Bengal Carrier, 3 Javelin Destroyers, 8 Idris Frigates, 9 Polaris Torpedo Boats, 11 Perseus Gunboats, 5 Crucible Repair Barges, and finally 20 Hull-Es carrying the building materials and other components to start up her base of operations.

Upon arriving in the system, the blazing red star was the first thing that caught her eye before it moved onto the vibrant world of Yavin itself.

Progress to the planet was swift, as was the descent and unloading of all the supplies that were hauled over.

Kilometres of land were cleared away by heavy machinery, tress would be used in some of the building materials along with the rocks and deeper buried ores underneath the surface.

As work continued, the sun began setting, signalling an end to the day, but the construction work continued, a single thought entered Leo's mind as she was gazing at the formation of her ground base.

"Ah fuck, this is going to take a long time."

Right after Leo left, Kelly was standing in awe at the ships being produced, she couldn't believe the sight of it, the designs Leo submitted were in her opinion.

Super cool.

But unlike Leo's mercenary fleet, which only needed four months to be considered ready to set sail, hers required far more time.

She was forced to wait, but that was okay, the time was filled with her educating herself and by Charlie's side on how to effectively lead a successful empire within a lawless region of space filled with warlords and criminal syndicates.

Time moved slowly, but it was passing.

At the 2nd year's end, Kelly had amassed nearly enough vessels and manpower to take over Omega and some outlying systems, but she felt as though it wasn't enough.

From the perspective of a military-minded fellow, it was indeed more than enough, in fact, it could be considered overkill, but you can never have enough overkill.

So, another dozen dreadnoughts and more cruisers and frigates later, Kelly felt like she was ready.

The invasion of Omega was the most unexpected thing to ever occur.

Hundreds of unknown ships appeared from the veil, disgorging thousands of transports that latched onto the superstructure of the station and began unloading the troops into the station.

The civilian residents stayed clear of these alien soldiers, while the gangs were mercilessly swept aside.

Not even the infamous organizations like the Blood Pack or Eclipse could stop them.

Omega was secured within 5 hours, unfortunately, the Queen of Omega Aria was nowhere to be seen, it appeared she escaped, how though, was the question of the day.

Ultimately, Kelly didn't dwell too much on it as she surveyed the station she captured, she was in her Morgan le Fay form as she walked around.

The troopers were already working to fix the damage they caused and renovate the whole area to give a much more dignified look rather than a sobby, run-down dump image.

She vowed this place would be cleaner than the Citadel itself.

The next thing on the list was making the outlying sectors her as well before moving onto the surrounding planets and dealing with the subsequent warlords who claimed those areas.

Though Charlie was already working on that, many were uninhabited, but the locals had already surveyed them, so using that survey information, they knew what to do with them, and that was to set up industry and homes for potential workers, along with creating military bases to house armouries and create storage caches to use on a rainy day.

Of course, she also needed to take care of the many Council-affiliated hidden bases all around the Traverse as well, she didn't need STG teams delaying her plans.

Then there was the Shadow Broker as well, that alien also needed to be taken care of as well, thankfully she knew where he was and taking over his assets would be a massive boon, next she needed to take account of…

"Ah fuck, this is going to take a long time."

Back in the home system, right near the galactic core, Brianna, formally known as Benson, commonly called Mother by her children, was directing the build effort in turning the world they were on into a formidable fortress as well as a safe home for her family to come back to.

Her wife was by her side as they worked on this world and those beyond it.

The home fleet was shaping up to be a formidable force, she would have to thank her middle child in the future for these superb designs.

They were already projected to outstrip the initial numbers they were said to have by the end of the year, and that was all thanks to the factory M-Type Battlebarge that they had built.

Brianna slatted four more to be built to further expedite the construction process of their domain.

Though it seemed her middle child neglected to think about how to design spaceports, anchorages, and of course, the much-needed civil services if one were to build up a functioning empire.

Thankfully, all those hours on City Skyline were coming into play; granted, it was not an effective substitute for real-world mechanics, but it did allow her to kick-start the process in her own way of learning how it all worked.

As the cities were built along with the colonies' developments, she noticed how more and more NPCs were appearing left and right to fill in the space of the buildings that were built along with the services to run them.

It was unnerving, and she often questioned how they came to be, but it all ways flowed back to the idea that the FIRST being was involved somehow.

Such concerns were placed to the side as there were bigger things to worry about.

Honestly, she briefly wondered why they even bothered helping the various civilizations of this bloated galaxy.

Yet her mind is always brought back to the lectures her youngest daughter, if they were still back home as normal humans, she would have greatly disapproved of her daughter for obsessing so much over all that media and demanded that she focus on her studies and follow in the footsteps of her older siblings.

Now, though, it was a godsend, the knowledge her little girl spouted was the greatest advantage they could ever have, as it allowed them to plan accordingly to deal with situations that seemed nigh impossible to stop.

"Dear, it's dinner time." Looking up, she found her wife bringing in a tray of food for both of them, she walked over to the table and set down the tray, placing a plate in front of her.

The food of the night was a nicely made butter chicken curry dish, the aroma hitting her nose already made her mouth salivate.

"Thank you, Liz."

They both ate together whilst discussing the work they were doing and what to do in the future.

There were many things she was thinking about, further expansions, managing the different kinds of fleets, assigning new roles and positions to be filled, looking into research and development, figuring out how to deal with the UNSC, the Reapers, the Citadel, the Republic, the CIS, everything.

Upon finishing her plate she was about to go back to work before a hand stopped her.

She met the red eyes of her wife with her own.

She knew that look in her eyes, how couldn't she, she's been married to her for decades.

"Work can wait until tomorrow," her wife said while tugging her out of the office space and towards their room.

"There are important things to be done, so many things," it was a weak protest, one that she didn't put much effort into expressing.

"It can wait as it's not going anywhere, after all."

She turned to look at her, and she felt nervous and… aroused.

The look in her wife's eyes and facial expression showed that tonight was going to be exciting.

"This is going to take a long time." The way she purred had her heat leaping.

Once they made it to the room, she found various sorts of…toys lying on the bed.

"Honey," her eyes were still on the items on the bed.

"Hmm," she heard the door shut with a click.

"You'll be gentle, right?" Two large soft mounds pressed into her back and arms were wrapping around her front, giving her own large bust a good squeeze that made her moan.

"Oh, I will," she breathed on her ears, and the tone of her voice did not fill her with confidence.

'Ah fuck, this is going to be a long night.' Those were her last thoughts before her wife ripped her clothes off and threw her into bed.
