He stared at me in astonishment, and everyone around was looking my way.
But I got a bit agitated by what he said and couldn't control myself, so this is what happened.
The voice continued to speak:
"The first test is the Sky Spiders' Nest."
"Every 10 of you will be placed in a nest full of Sky Spiders and won't come out until all the spiders are defeated. You will be chosen randomly."
A loud discussion started among those standing.
He looked at me and said,
"If you're not with me, try to survive."
"And you too, I won't be there to heal you," I said, laughing.
He looked at me and laughed.
Suddenly, a blue light appeared around a group of people, and they began to disappear.
The blue light appeared around him too, and he vanished.
I also disappeared and found myself in a new place.
It was a large area resembling a cage, with ten caves around me. Nine other people appeared around me.
Four girls and five men.
The lowest level among them was 45.
Five people were at level 50.
Each of us was summoned in front of one cave.
Dozens of nasty insects started coming out of the caves. The battle began quickly, so I whispered:
"Warrior's Cry."
More than 30 spiders were in front of me, so I whispered:
"Meteor Shower."
Many meteors fell from the sky, killing five of the spiders.
I quickly summoned my sword, not caring if anyone saw me using both warrior and mage abilities.
In this world, some rare cases can do that.
So, I whispered:
"Storm of Swords."
My body began to spin and approach the spiders, cutting off heads swiftly.
Five more heads fell before me.
I felt a real rush of excitement.
I raised my sword and whispered:
"Shadow Steps."
I moved behind the spiders.
"Mist Labyrinth."
A mist spread around, making my body somewhat invisible due to this ability.
Suddenly, I placed my sword in a spider's head.
I jumped.
"Severing Strike."
I split another spider's body in half.
Eight spiders stood, trying to attack me.
I waited until they reached a certain point.
"Earth Spikes."
Many spikes emerged from the ground, piercing their guts and spilling their insides out.
So, I whispered:
"Extreme Speed."
But suddenly, many webs appeared from behind, immobilizing me.
What happened? I looked back and found the number of spiders had increased, and those with me were dead, their corpses on the ground. Only two remained.
A girl with white hair, draped with a white scarf, had large green eyes and a magic staff.
A boy, no older than 20, short with brown hair, held two daggers and moved quickly among the monsters. The girl cast spells on the spiders, killing them.
But the number of spiders kept increasing, making it difficult for them to handle alone.
I looked at them and whispered:
"Status."
Name: Khaled
Class: Assassin Warrior
Race: Human
Level: 50
Abilities: Star Movement
Name: Lina
Class: Ice Witch
Race: Hybrid
Level: 51
Abilities: Ice Arrows
Why is this girl a hybrid? Can hybrid creatures also progress to this institute?
But there's no time to think. I'm immobilized, and more than 50 spiders are approaching me, with more than 300 spiders in total in the area.
I'm strong, but I can't handle this number alone, and I can't summon my corpses because if anyone saw me, my secret would be exposed.
So, I whispered:
"Shadow Steps."
I moved towards Lina and Khaled and shouted at the top of my voice:
"Come here quickly!"
They looked at me and hurried over. The spiders were closing in, so I didn't have time.
"We must help each other to get out of here alive, the three of us."
Lina said with a lot of tension in her voice:
"What do you want us to do?"
"We need to have our backs to a wall so we won't get surrounded," I pointed to a nearby wall.
But before I could move, Khaled spoke confidently with a slightly arrogant smile:
"And why should I listen to a kid's words?"
"I'm not asking you to listen. Go to them if you want to die so badly."
I said angrily, releasing my blue aura. He was astonished, and so was Lina.
How could a 15-year-old boy have such a distinguished blue aura?
So, Khaled and Lina followed me to the wall I pointed to.
I pointed to Lina, "You stay at the back, cast your area spells, and protect our rear."
"You and I," I pointed to Khaled, "will attack with all our strength."
Khaled released his blue aura, smiled, and said:
"Alright, but don't regret it if you die."
"I won't regret it, but they will regret it," I said, laughing heartily.
Khaled moved quickly with his daggers, his upper body leaning forward.
He was very fast.
So, I whispered:
"Extreme Speed."
I boosted my feet with kai energy.
I was beside Khaled. He looked at me in astonishment and increased his speed, challenging me until we reached the monsters.
Large chunks of ice were falling from the sky.
"Storm of Swords."
I began killing many monsters at once.
"Swift Blade."
My body moved left and right, seemingly beyond my control. Blood was spilling everywhere, and wounds began to appear on my body.
Behind me, large ice chunks were killing many monsters.
When I looked at Khaled, I saw him moving at an incredible speed, dancing between the monsters' necks.
The scene was bloody and intense.
I had killed many.
I smiled and kept smiling.
I unleashed my full power.
"Mana Swords."
Sixty swords emerged around me, killing over thirty monsters.
But as I tried to kill more monsters, one attacked me from behind.
Before its blow could reach me, Khaled cut its neck.
He looked at me, blood covering his face.
"Watch your back, there's one on you," he said, laughing as if he were in a nightclub or playing a game.
I was filled with excitement.
I got up and raised my sword.
I whispered:
"Iris Strike."
Many monsters were pushed back.
So, I jumped into the air, placed my sword on the ground, and whispered:
"Lightning Strike."
Many spiders became paralyzed.
But in a moment, Khaled collected their heads as if picking apples.
Many webs appeared around him, causing him to fall to the ground, unable to move. This boy relied on his speed.
So, I quickly jumped to him before a spider could kill him, placed my hand on the spider about to strike him, and whispered:
"Flame Burst."
Its face burned completely.
I approached Khaled and lifted him, whispering in his ear:
"You owe me."
I smiled.
The battle lasted for half an hour, and then we completely eliminated all the monsters.
A wide, sinister smile spread across my face, blood covering every part of my body, along with many wounds.
But what surprised me in this battle wasn't just Khaled's speed and precision but also Lina's spell strength. What she lacked was speed in casting spells. She had incredible power, with each spell killing ten spiders.
These two are geniuses.
I sat down, leaning against the wall, trying to gather my energy because I was also exhausted.
Lina was too, and Khaled was covered in blood.
Khaled looked at me and said:
"I could've survived without your help."
"I know that," I said, laughing.
He looked at me and said:
"But I killed more than you."
"I know that too."
Lina laughed.
She hadn't spoken since we met, and Khaled hadn't stopped talking.
She put her hand over her face, trying to hide her laughter.
She had a wonderful laugh.
I looked at Khaled and saw his face turning red.
He said:
"Why hide the moon with your hand?"
What a strange compliment. Is this boy an idiot?
Lina turned her face away.
At that moment, the voice that brought us here spoke again:
"Seven hundred people died in the first test, leaving three hundred for the second test."
I heard Khaled shout:
"Damn it!"
